I went to La Europea in Cancun. They have a great choice AND they will refund unused bottles. Be careful not to chill the white wine you want to return... it's very easy to find.

LA EUROPEA

The resorts that will allow you to bring your bottles (you have to check before hand) will charge a corking fee. You have to check the fee, it's usually different for wine, liquor and champagne. Even with the fee it was still much less expensive than through the hotel.

I also checked the Walmart and the little winery in front of the Walmart in Playa del Carmen, but preferred the choice at La Europea.

Hi girls,

We got married on August 6th and we were really worried about the wine and champagne issue.

At our resort the costs of these were 3 and 4 times more expensive than normal costs in Spain, where I am from.

We did not want to pay that but we certainly knew we did not want to go with the awful wine house! Our resort did not charge a corking fee, but if the hotel had it, we would have go on with the idea of having good wine.

Plus, there was other bride that got married at the same resort several months before me, and she had the same issue. She decided to buy the wine at a supermarket and she had bad luck as she said it was awful.

I found thourgh this site a wedding planner based at Playa del Carmen, Yazmin de la Mora. She was great and we were really happy to find her!! She provided us a long list of wine and (French) champagne. We booked the bottles and we received them at the resort. We decided Yazmin gave them to us the same day of our meeting with our resort planner, so our planner had the bottles.

We took a look at all the bottles to see they were right, and they were perfect.

It was super easy to work with her and she answered me promptly. She is a very good professional and I really advice her.

I repeat, for us having good wine and French champagne was really important and everything was perfect at our reception.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
