June 2011 Brides!

Recommended Posts

LOVE them! What a gorgeous shade of blue!

The solemates are super obvious based on the pictures! I would never wear them with a short dress, but I'm hoping they will hep out on the grass and then I can pull them off for the rest of the evening. I'll keep you posted!

What does everyone else have left to do for their wedding?

I really feel like I am forgetting to do a bunch of things because I'm not yet in a panic with less than 3 months to go. What are the little details you still have to do?

Hello,

I'm a June 11th bride too.  Last week I submitted a list of songs for our dj to play, along with a do not play list.  I sent an agenda to the photographer telling him where to be the day of wedding and what shots I want.  I also made my day of wedding schedule.  I just ordered my welcome gifts, the men's ties (they already have suits) and decorations for the tables.

Already done: Flights and hotel booked, Dress (being altered), Veil (on order), shoes, makeup, MOH dress, flowers, decor decided, menu chosen, dj, photographer, officiant, guest list, invitations, RSVP's (all but 10 returned), wedding favors, songs (precessional, bride walk down aisle, 1st dance), cake ordered, welcome party, rehearsal, and meeting scheduled with the coordinator when we arrive..... and honeymoon, but that is 6 months later. : )

I still need to get wedding jewelry, assemble the welcome bags with welcome note/events, schedule spa appts for day of wedding, find the table runners for the reception, make the programs, menus and escort cards.

I hope that helps. :) Where are you getting married?  We're arriving the Tuesday the 7th so we can make sure everything is taken care of before our friends and family get in.  Good luck!  I can't wait for June 11th to get here already!!!

Wow I think you are ahead of me! We are getting married at Barcelo Palace in the Riviera Maya. Our travel dates are the 6th to the 13th, then we go to the Dominican for a honeymoon.

I have done: my dress, bridesmaid dresses (ordered), favors, most OOT bag stuff, invites, honeymoon, menu cards, pretravel brochures, flowers, hair style chosen, wedding bands purchased.

Still need to do: song list (using IPod), send list of pictures to photographer, book spa appointments, make a schedule for the day of the wedding, make a tag for the OOT bags, finish a few items for the OOT bags, figure out if I want more decor added to the ceremony, bridesmaid gifts, groomsmen gifts, groomsmen and groom attire, bride accessories, shopping for mexico clothes, figure out our ceremony script... I feel like I'm forgetting a lot.

I only have 1 RSVP back but we have 17 people booked so far.

I know I've forgotten to list a lot of the things I've done.....like the wedding bands, long done! : )  I've been planning since last September, I've had wedding on my brain for soooo long, I just want to get married already.

I'm sure you'll do just fine, hopefully you have a good wedding party to help.  BTW- congrats!  If I think of anything else I'll send you a suggestion.

It's great to see some new brides here! Welcome!

I received my pre-travel brochures from Vistaprint that I plan to send out with luggage tags a few weeks before we leave. I'm posting it here in case any of you are planning on doing a similar project and need some ideas!

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
