Hey girls! Hope the RSVPs have started rolling in for you all?!?!? After I posted about getting mine in, they suddenly stopped! I think I cursed myself by saying how well I was doing on my count...oh well!

On another note, My fiance is former air force, and therefore has friends all over the world. One of his closest friends has been working as a contractor in Jordan since before we met and I have never gotten the opportunity to meet him. Well, we received word today that he is coming to Cabo for the wedding!!!! He is only able to get away for three days, so he is literally flying down one day from Jordan, staying the day of the wedding, and flying back the next day. I can't imagine....makes me feel so blessed that we have wonderful friends like that willing to fly half way across the world just for the wedding! I'm so excited to meet him! Had to share the good news with you girls!! The count is now up to 39!

I will mention that people do seem to think that destination wedding is so easy and that there is no planning that goes with it. Everyone keeps telling me oh must be all done and there is nothing to do...im like yea NO you are so wrong...

It also is driving me nuts about people and waiting and last minute watching to see if the air reservations are going to go down. I cant imagine them to go down!! I just cant...

Great news Donnie about your friend from Jordan. I love that people are making the effort to come from all over, remember me on the other hand i have to help, coach, encourage and practicaly make the peoples reservations...lol...everyone is like im going to get shot in Mexico :) so if all the people who are talking about coming we are between 15-20. We still only have 6 booked plust us, so total 8. Again its so crazy to think we are so close and people are watching to see if the prices are going to go down.

Hey if someone stay's at a different resort to they have to pay to come to your wedding? just to get on the property? Our guests if they stay elsewhere have to buy a $80 wrist band...

I feel your pain too IdOinCABO...my fiance's mother and brother downright refuse to go to our wedding because they don't want to go to Mexico. We were upset at first but now we're just over it. That's why it's so great to be able to focus on the people that are actually going to be there instead of those that are not.

As far as last minute bookings, I have noticed our airfares going down a bit so maybe you have hope! Granted most of the good flights (i.e. get there early and leave late) are full, but the less desirable flights seem to be getting cheaper everyday. Keeping my fingers crossed for ya! If flights are not full I would guess the airlines would drop the price to fill up the plane rather than leave seats empty! Also, not to add another source of stress, but you may want to check to see how full your resort is. Some of the girls that are getting married at Dreams in June have mentioned that the resort is already fully booked during their wedding week.

Also, I almost forgot to mention that I received my freeze dried rose petals in the mail last week. I ordered them from: http://www.flyboynaturals.com/ in bridal white/ivory. As soon as I opened the box the smell was awesome! I was so shocked that the petals maintained their smell and shape. I am very impressed by the quality of the petals. Since they are freeze dried they are also very light and easy to transport. I plan to line the aisle with them...I was quoted a ton for real rose petals by the florist, so these are a great alternative for girls looking for aisle petals! I've heard there may be some issues getting them down there due to customs, but another girl put them in bags and wrote "fake petals" on the bags and had no problems even though she was picked for a search...so I'm planning to do the same and just hope I get the green light at customs!

IdOin CABO - the resort we are staying at is not all inclusive so guests are able to visit...sorry, I can't help you out on that one but I'm sure some of the other girls can!

I got my second RSVP today...only a week late...but I'm glad I at least got that! I really shouldn't complain because we have about 20 people booked, but it would be really nice to have an idea of who need a vegetarian menu, when they are coming, their fave song, etc. Oh well.

Donie that's so great that that person can go for you even if just for a short time!! I feel that people are going out of their way to come to my wedding too because it turns out my cousin is graduating high school 2 days before my wedding so a bunch of my aunts and uncles aren't coming until the day beore my wedding, and then leaving retty much the day after! It'll be quite weird because they live in a different country than me and I would have liked more time to see them! I figure I wont have much time to hang out with them on the wedding day!!

I still have to get my FI's suit. I'm kind of stressed bout this. They assure us they will get their summer stuff in soon, and that it will only really take a couple days to order stuff. Anyone had experience with this? (Specifically, Moores).

june11bride - did you ask "favorite song" on the RSVP? That is such a cute idea!!!! Wish I would have thought of that! Love it! I have a song request section on the wedding website, but haven't gotten much feedback from it.

Thanks for sharing in my excitement about Fiance's friend coming, ladies!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
