I'm stuck on the flowers too -- we'll have 18-19 tables at the reception alone, so it's going to be a bit tricky.  We are going with Emporio Arte Floral (Leoan) and she's really working with me to get what I want.  I don't know what your theme is, but I loved this idea for the candles:

We are also using hurricanes filled with water and limes, with either a floating candle or flower on top.  I do want a pop of color on the tables, so I am trying to decide if we should go the flower route instead of the candles...

Roses will be beautiful!  Hopefully it won't be that much more for the hydrangeas.  We are definitely using mini calla lilies because they tend to be cheaper and very "Mexico".

Do you have a Z Gallery where you are?  They have a ton of really cool and unique shells and coral right now on sale if you need any more.

Good luck to everyone and keep posting your awesome ideas!!!!

We don't have a Z Gallery here...grrrr. We had one and it went out of business, worst thing ever! Love that store though, thanks for the advice! And, I love the look on limes in hurricanes! If it fit into our color scheme I would be all about it! So Cute!

I love white roses but you dont think they will wilt or go brown with the heat? Like the edges/rims??

I'm thinking if white roses were an issue the florist would have said something...or at least I hope so! I've seen other brides with photos of white roses and didn't notice them looking wilted. Does anyone else have thoughts on this?

I have been MIA for about a week just trying to get some stuff done!  It's great to see so many June brides on here!!

We were just notified that our hotel is now sold out during the weekend of our wedding.  It's a little bit of a stresser since we still have at least 8 guests with flights and no rooms.  This will be interesting :)

Donnie - I am also working with Lola from Florenta.  She has been great so far but as you mentioned, all the flowers I really wanted were so expensive!  I ended up just choosing some domestic flowers.  I am bringing down my own bouquets and bout's.  I went with the real touch so that I could at least have some calla's for my bouquets!  I am also bringing down about 70 loose green cymibium orchids that are also real touch.  I figured I could use them for the tables at the reception.  All of my real touch flowers should ship next week so I am anxious to see how they look in person.

I just finished up our ceremony programs and I am now working on the menu's.  I ordered raffia fans for the chairs and I will be attaching the program onto the fans.  As far as the OOT bags, I am slowly gathering all of the contents.  Ill update soon when I have some pics of all the stuff.

I really need to spend some time on our playlist!!  We have a good start but I don't want to wait for the lat minute so I try to add songs little by little.

We plan to go into town once we arrive, to grab some tequila bottles and some snacks for the oot bags.

We finally booked our honeymoon last night...Im so excited to have this crossed off of our list.  We decided on Capella Pedregal and I can't wait to be there!!

What did Lola offer as far as domestics? I'm a little upset with her at the moment...long story short I sent her an email to confirm a few weeks back and never got a reply, so I tracked her down on facebook and noticed she had a different email listed. When I emailed her to inquire about the hydrangeas she sent me the info for making the deposit to book my date - which I did months ago! When I emailed her letting her know this I got nothing back. Not sure what the deal is, she was very responsive initially and I'm sure it will get cleared up, but it's a bit annoying that she doesn't already know she has me booked!

As far as the playlist, I haven't done my either, but when I do, I plan on using some songs from this list of the top 200 most requested songs...here's the link if you haven't seen it yet:

I have to disagree here...we have some guests spending over $1000 to be there on our wedding day...I feel like putting a little something together to let them know you appreciate it can go a long way. Not saying I don't understand why some people can't do them, I just think if it is possible it is a great way to show you care!

So today was our RSVP cutoff date (March 31st). Guess how many we received? Seriously, guess.

We got back ONE. Seriously. ONE. And it was for someone that we took the money and booked ourselves. This makes me quite frustrated!!! I mean, all the people we absolutely need to come are booked (we've got 17 booked including us and photographers) but still. There are some people I am still wondering about. Any making my OOT bags. I'm quite far along, but it would def help to know how many people are coming to my June 11/11 wedding!!!!

Anyone else experiencing this? Is it just that it's a Mexico wedding that people assume it isn't as important??? BangHead.gif

WHAT?!?! I would be banging on doors if I was you...how frustrating. Why are people so rude?

Our RSVP date is April 10th, and to be honest we have already gotten most of ours back. The main reason for our invites was to get people's meal choices and to find out when people were arriving. We really already knew who was booked and have in a way assumed that those that didn't book have no intention of coming (We have 38 guests as of now counting ourselves). That being said there are 2-3 couples that were questionable and of course there is no RSVP from them yet. Even if people are still watching flights or whatever trying to decide, it would be nice to have a phone call or some indication of what is going on! I honestly staring packing OOT stuff last night just because I need an idea of how I'm going to get all this stuff down there....and it made me think - people probably have no idea how much planning goes into this. Here I am over two months out starting to pack, and I think people just assume that since it's a destination wedding we just show up and everything is already taken care of. Ughhhhh.

Hang in there girl!

Ours are due today and so far we have responses for 26 of our 42 sent.  I'm not expecting one from the people that have verbally said no.  We have about 13 more that are still "maybe", they've verbally told us yes or haven't said anything either way, but they haven't mailed anything to us.  Today I am sending an email through our wedding website reminding them it is the due date... we have a tool that lets them RSVP on our site.  I plan to give them until the 8th before I actually call them for their answer.  Some people are just really unorganized and forget due dates.  I think a reminder call or email is ok.  Good luck.  I totally understand.  I've waited to order OOT stuff and wedding favors until I know for sure.  I'm so glad I have bc we've had some unexpected RSVPs so far.

Super frustrating!!! Sorry about that!

Ours are due April 15 and we still have 23 we haven't received. Some of those are from people who told us a long time ago they aren't coming and some of our bridal party! I don't understand why if you definitely know you are or are not coming, why not send the reply card back!

People definitely don't think about all the planning. We are seriously tracking at the exact number for what we budgeted so even if one of our maybes comes, we will be over budget, which we need time to plan for.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
