New here, need a little help!

Ok so I contacted Roxanna and she is supposed to have been emailing me in 30 minutes after speaking with the hotel manager. This was about 2 hours ago but I hope it just means he is considering lowering the room prices! If not, I saw another couple who had their wedding here but ended up staying at the Flamingo Resort and Spa which they said was only 5 minutes away. If this is the case we would probably offer both hotels to our guests as accomadations. It is a little cheaper at $140 instead of the $170 we are being offered and that is not including any type of group rate with the Flamingo yet. I would consider having our wedding there but I believe it will be too crowded and the more I think about it the more I know the location I want is the Bahia-just wish they had cheaper hotels nearby for some of our "frugal" guests, lol.

Denee,

Just some FYI, Playa Hermosa is set on a 800 meter total beach length, it gives you a feel of being a little enclosed (rocky coves both ends). The north end is the entrance to Villa Sol Hotel. It is a bay and the waters are extremely calm (a plus for kids and swimming), good departing point for snorkeling tours, fishing, sunset sail and water skiing. The hotel is up on a mountainside about 10min away (steep drive). A good price point hotel to stay at (for other options for your guests) Mangaby. We actually had a wedding booking at this hotel 5 years ago. The people of the hotel have had a couple of weddings. They are extremely helpful and nice. Nice restaurant with nice view.

Ok so yet another hotel that I had tried to contact before got in touch with me finally and they seem really nice and informative. It is Hotel Bula Bula. It seems like it is in a very nice secluded area but not too far from Tamarindo and they have a private beach where I can have the ceremony. Plus accommadations are not as expensive. How is this hotel with weddings? I am supposed to be receiving some pictures from the manager later today of weddings there but it seems like a good place.

I know the place. I used to spend time in Playa Grande a couple of months out of the year from California. Playa Grande is very nice but very isolated from Tamarindo by the estuary. Playa Grande is a reserve, so not much can be built up. Not many restaurants or activities. Because you would be on the estuary side it would be buggy (we used to have dinner there a couple of nites out the week but had to deal with the mosquitoes). The beach side is not so much. Not much nite life there at all. At least in Tama or Flamingo you can get out to other restaurants, bars and activities.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
