Step-Dad's label on Welcome book??

Recommended Posts

Ladies, Ladies-

Again, I need some opinions (I feel so needy!!). Here is the story: My Grandparents raised me. I lived with them for 75% of my life, and owe them the full credit of every opportunity I've had. My step-dad has been in the family since I was 5, and he is the father of my two younger sisters. When I was young, we never got along. But now that I'm older, we've gotten a lot closer. I have never CALLED him 'Dad' but in the past 7 or so years, I've referred to him as Dad to not make him feel bad referring to him as StepDad. He has always told me that he felt like I was his daughter. Not to mention that he is SO stoked about his DAUGHTER getting married.

So the question: My Grandpa is walking me down the aisle, hands down. I'm making welcome books with a 'Meet the Guests' page- and wanted to say who people were to us under their name......I don't know what to do in regards to my StepDad!? I don't want to put that title, but for the guests that don't know the full story, I would hate for them to think bad of the fact that my Grandpa is walking me down the aisle instead of my 'Dad'....

Thoughts?grouphug.gif Thanks as always ladies, for the advice!!!!

That's what I would suggest too....I have a step dad too but will not be giving him much as far as "labels" go since he has not been a big part of my life and I was already a grown adult when he came around. And my real father has always been a part of my life.

I would try to just say Parents and leave it at that!

First, I don't think anyone would ever think badly of you for having your Grandpa walk you down the aisle. I think it will be obvious how close you are.

As for your Stepfather - It depends - you can put "Mother and Husband", "Mother and StepFather" or "Parents" -

I think Parents will be easier, look best and not offend your Stepfather, who obviously loves you...whether you were close in the past is not as important as NOW.

  • 5 weeks later...

Im glad you came to a decision and I thin it is wonderful too that your grandpa is walking you down the aisle what a honor for him and what a wonderful opportunity for you to have him in your life and be so close!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
