I can relate as my cousin's b-day falls ON our wedding day (didn't realize it until later on) and my dad's b-day is about 6 days after. I think a good way to honor them is to have a special toast to them and to anyone else celebrating something special close to the wedding. You could also probably give them a card at their table during the reception or have small cupcakes set aside for them. HTH!

Not sure what we're gonna do yet since we'll also be celebrating other relative's graduations during that time too.

We had a number of guests with birthdays around our wedding including DH, my grandam and 2 of our friends. So at our welcome dinner I had them make a birthday cake and we all sang happy bday to everyone. This way the bdays were recognized but did not take away from the wedding celebrations.

I have the same problem. I booked our wedding w/o even realizing the day before is my FI's brother's bday. My younger cousin's 11th birthday is also earlier in the week. I was thinking about having a cake and singing happy birthday on FI's brother's bday which will be our welcome/rehearsal dinner night. We'll probably pay for his golfing that day too. As for my younger cousin, we're not sure if her family is coming yet but if she does come it would all depend on their arrival date but I'm sure we would have a cake for her too and maybe buy her a cute gift from the Dominican like a necklace or something. Hope this helps!

thanks Pandabride6! i love the idea of doing the bday cupcakes at the wedding reception, & making a small toast or even a song? All of my guests are arriving different days (up until the day before the wedding) so im not sure if a welcome dinner will work out for us....that proposes another question then, how do you go about that?

We have a similar situation - one of FI's sisters bday's is our wedding day, the day before is soon-to-be-SIL's bday (brother's fiance) and my bro & SIL's anniversary is also the day before. Plus we have a couple others the week before. So, we're having a celebratory bonfire on the beach with s'mores and a bday cake the night before the wedding. We're not having a rehearsal dinner so on our itinerary we just listed "special celebration gathering on the beach".

I really like the cupcake idea too!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
