Cabo In October..

Recommended Posts

Hello Ladies.. (2 part question)

1 - I have a question for all you October Cabo brides out there.. because I can't seem to find anyone with my same wedding date. I know there's a big fishing tournament in Cabo the weekend of my wedding, but since we're at a Villa I wasn't too worried about it. Is there anything else going on I should be worried about? Why does it seem people aren't getting married that weekend? or .. am I being paranoid?

2 - Where are you all having your rehersal dinner? We were going to do Baja Cantina, but just to 'set up' a table for 15 (ie push together 4, 4tops) they require a 500$ deposit!! It's rediculous!! All I wanted to do is make a reservation for dinner for 15 people near Cabo.. I don't want a special menu, my guests will order off the menu.. but this isn't turning out to be as easy as I thought. Oh.. and my first choice.. Mi Casa.. is sold out that night for a special event. ARGH!!

It sounds crazy, but I didn't pick the rehearsal dinner place until I got there.....I wanted to test it out first. So we checked out a few places and talked to a couple of managers....and voila....$750 for dinner, drinks, and desert for 30.....The Stoplight.....right next to El Squid Row and super casual!! But we had our tables right next to the sidewalk and the veiw of the Cabo nightlife was fantastic! The trick was to send out rehearsal invitations that invited people to meet us at the ceremony site and then said something like "dinner to follow"....Our WC just arrange taxis for us and away we went!

We picked our date and then found out about the Cabo Wabo thing. With that said our hotel is 5 minutes away from the hustle and bustle so I am not that worried. One of my co-workers has also stayed in Cabo that same week and said that it is only really crowded if you are trying to get into Cabo Wabo. Our WC also assured me that it will not be a problem as far as vendors for the wedding and that is all I really care about!

Our rehersal dinner is at Edith's.

Amy - Have you tried calling places and noty mentioning anything about it being a wedding. Just basically that you and a group of friends will be in town and you'd love to all have dinner there (meaning wherever). People may still want a deposit because it's so far in advance but maybe that could help?

I actually did after I heard about the Baja Cantina thing..
They told me (Baja Catina) that it doesn't matter the occasion.. they require a deposit if they have to push any tables together! And we were planning on ordering off the menu. I've found a new place.. La Fonda.. they're being great!!smile123.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
