Tdizzle: I am going down to the Cancun Palace late july and taking a tour of the beach palace while I'm down there. If you can wait until then, I will send you pics of the Beach Palace. Any specific areas you want pics of??

c&j -- Aventura Spa Palace actually has 2 wedding gazebos on the spa side and 1 on the cove side. You can also get married on the rooftop of Mundaca or on the beach. Also, only Aventura Spa and Moon have the horsedrawn carriages for weddings. Beautiful weddings there.

Tons to do at the resort, great snorkeling, pools, and restaurants.

Pros:
-BEAUTIFUL beach & water; Cancun just re-did their beach so it is double the size it used to be and you can't beat the color of the water in Cancun
-Updated rooms and resort with a modern feel: got ruined a couple years back from the hurricane, so they re-did everything
-Great food: we tried the lunch buffet and everything we has was excellent, along with their drinks (Playacars was also excellent; I think the Palace resorts take care of their food well)
-2 Sky terraces on the top floor of the building; 2 bars, pools and hot tubs. You can also get married on the very top sky terrace
-Close to Cancun attractions; walking distance between La Isla Mall and Flamingo Plaza and bus fare is cheap if you want to explore further
Cons:
-In the heart of Cancun; may not be the feel you are looking for
-Beach wedding location isn't totally private if that's what you would like
-Doesn't have the "tropical" feel that some of the other resorts have with all the palm trees, palapas, etc.
-Rain site for the ceremony and reception is in a ballroom

I have pictures if you would like to see any of them.
What can you tell me about Cancun Palace?

I got married at MP recently, honeymooned at Le Blanc, and walked down from there one day to Beach Palace. We went up to the rooftop, had a drink, and noticed a set of long narrow steps going higher...so we headed up. It was just an open area with glass round it...we thought it was a helicopter pad!lol I'm sure they decorate it all nicely though.

I didn't actually notice any wedding areas on the grounds...but suppose I wasn't looking. We lay out by the pool for a wee while, and staff were quick coming over to us with to put the umbrella up, and for our drinks order. I felt the pool area was smaller than Le Blanc, and there was a volleyball game on, so we didn't go in. We did see a young couple in, they were kinda hanging about with drinks, and the poor guy got smashed in the face with the volleyball...they took no prisoners!lol It was quite funny though, the staff took drinks orders during the game, and when they came, all beer of course, the game just suddenly stopped!ha was funny seeing in motion. There was current chart music getting played by the pool, which for me, was a plus. At Le Blanc its "mellow" instrumental music, not my thing, more annoying really, so it was pretty awesome to have some Rihanna or Beyonce blaring for a change! :)

We headed inside and had a look around the buffet, we were heading to hooters for lunch (i'd never been before) so didn't have anything, but I have to say it did all look delicious. The decor inside was all modern and very beautiful.

Having been spoilt at MP, I felt for me, the hotel, being a family friendly hotel, was too small to keep everyone happy. Laying at the pool, there was no way to avoid random kids running around, and having no kids ourselves, that something we'd prefer to avoid! But apart from that, the hotel was gorgeous...oh, and it was really near the 2 shopping centres, so if anyone is thinking about getting their make-up done, you could easily head to the MAC store, its really just across the road and round the corner :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
