Hi Aumuller -

Yes, I've actually already booked our wedding for May 2012 with our resort.  They also told me that I couldn't book until 2012 prices came out but I just kept at it until they gave in.  I'm still having to wait for 2012 prices for the extra stuff we want but I at least got the 2011 package rate.  My WC told me that 2012 prices should come out in late October/November so you don't have that much longer to wait.  Are you planning to get married at the Gran Caribe or another resort?  I'm not sure about other resort prices but my guess is they come out around the same time.

How have you already booked your wedding for May 2012? I can't find any information that far in advance. I plan on getting married in March 2012 but was told I couldn't get any pricing information or book until a year in advance.

Hi Norma!

two years is a lot of time..

the usual is one year.. but I think that with two years you will be plenty of time to choose carefully all your vendors.

The only important thing is to have in perspective everything.. because for so many time you should be very organized :)

very happy planning!

Hi Gonzalo -

Yes, I agree.  With this much time in advance I should be very organized with my plans!  So far things are going well--hopefully, things stay that way :)

We were originally planning a cruise wedding for jan 2012 but I'm pushing to probably June 2012. Haven't booked the cruise yet since they don't have the summer 2012 listed but I cant wait till they do. Plus it gives us more time to save and get other people prepared to plan for it as well.

A cruise wedding sounds awesome!  Well just a couple more months till the years over so I'm sure 2012 rates should be coming out soon.  You are definitely right though...we have more time to plan and save!

Dreams Punta Cana - They seemed to have the most affordable prices for wedding and stay for our budget -  I can't wait until new years day because I can finally officially request my date - which means I can plan wayyyy more than what I am doing right now!!  Yours is at the Grand Caribe?

Dreams Punta Cana sounds awesome!  We're thinking about Punta Cana as our honeymoon destination - it looks really nice there.  The end of the year will be here in no time!

Yes, our wedding will be at the Gran Caribe -- so excited about it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
