Heh, that mantra has never worked for me. Probably because I am such a big fan of food and I think that some foods are worth the calories.

My trick is to not over do it and to not waste calories on things that aren't worth it. There's nothing worse than spending some of your calories on mediocre food.

I was sorta bad today. We had Kelsey's for lunch. I did get the broccoli cheddar soup rather than fries (although it's pretty creamy!) and no buns with the buffalo chicken sandwich.

We also bought groceries and I made sure not to buy any high carb items for myself. Was so tempted to buy the tubs of ice cream down to $2 from $6!! But FI was actually the one who said no. Phew!

It's so much easier to be healthy during the work week for me. I eat breakfast at home by myself (FI leaves earlier) then pack a lunch. On the weekends though....I'm SOOO lazy and we usually eat out or order in. :/

There is no shame in recognizing that you're not at your goal and then doing something about it. None of us are happy with our current weight (except for those who are only looking for motivation to maintain), but we should feel pride in the steps we're taking to make our weight a number we can be happy with.

Kudos to you, by the way, for not letting your minor work set back deter you from starting with us anyway.

Mischaka,

I agree with Sapphire; be proud of what you have ALREADY accomplished! Something that has always worked for me is to set smaller goals; myticker says 18 or so pounds left to go until I it my goal, but it sounds daunting all in one shot. So, when I had 33 to lose, I decided to set 5 pound goals for myself. When I hithat goal, I would feel so proud and accomplished that it was motivating! When I hit 15 pounds lost, I told myself I would buy really great sunglasses for my trip... and I did. I bought Ray Ban aviators that I had always wanted.

We are all hee in this thread because we are not where we really want to be, so you can be assured you are surrounded by people who understand where you are coming from with your sucesses, failures, stumbling points and frustrations. Keep moving forward!!

Well said, nsbride! I also find it helps to have a target outfit - as you start to lose weight, it starts looking better and it makes you want to work harder to get into it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
