A bit frustrating as the rates are not out for next year yet and the TA here won't do anything until the rates come out. I have selected the Gran Porto Real in Playa del Carmen Mexico. I was checking with the resort today and it appears someone might have stolen my day and time slot! I was so hoping for it...I guess I will have to be happy with another option. I am sure I can find one that will work just as well!

Michelle10- I'm interning with Anoka-Hennepin School district as a physical therapist. So I guess its based in Anoka, but then we'll drive around to the children's houses too. Where in Jamaica is your wedding?

 

Daily2o11- I used to go to school in La Crosse, WI, so any time I drove to the city I would see lots of signs for Austin! I am having my wedding at the end of December in Playa! I feel ya on the frustrating part, rates are just coming out for december. Luckily I was able to reserve my date, and the resort gave me an extension until May until I have to book and fully reserve, so hoping better deals will be out by then!

Jnagan2011: I had a really hard time deciding between the Riu and Royal properties. I am interested to hear your experience. I ultimately made the decision based on cost and what my TA was telling me about service. However, all the ladies on this forum have been saying that the Royal's service leading up to the transfer to the Mexican WC is awful. It is making me second guess...AGAIN. Luckily I can't put a deposit down yet!

 

I know there are more of us from MN around here. There is a gal from the Royal who is getting married in a couple of weeks from Mpls. We should plan a cities meet up.

Hopefully other MN folks will post here as well. It would definitely be fun to meet up.

 

I am getting married in Montego Bay, and honeymooning in Negril. Rates aren't available yet (airfare or hotel) for Jamaica either. I booked my wedding date at 2 resorts, and have 90 days to make my final decision. Luckily, neither resort required a deposit to hold the date! YEA!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
