Houston Brides!

Hi Kristi - Davids will definitely have a nice selection around $600.  If you go to the one on San Felipe (by the Galleria), I only have one suggestion...try not to go on a weekend!  If at all possible, schedule your appointment during the week sometime.  I've gone by there twice on a weekend and it was such chaos, that I had to turn around and leave both times :(.  They have great things (and great prices), but I just couldn't enjoy wedding dress shopping with screaming babies, kids running, and tons of women just yelling at each other from across the store.

Have a blast dress shopping!!

By the way...its about time for me to get my dress altered, so if anyone recommends anyone in Houston, I'm all ears!  I purchased my dress in Vegas, but Id like to get it altered here.

I live in Jersey Village and we are getting married 11-4-11 in Cancun!  I started looking for dresses at Alfred Angelo, but couldn't find anything that suited me. I only want to spend around $600.00 since it will be a beach wedding. I plan on checking out David's Bridal too.  How is your search going Msawyer?

Wow, I'm next...that really feels strange.

Ladies I have a question for you. Have you all put any thoughts into a bridal shower or bachelorette party? My friends are wanting to plan something here in the Houston area (most of them live out of town), so they'd like to have the bridal shower at a restaurant on Saturday afternoon, and later that night we'll have a bachelorette party. Any suggestions?

I really want to hear what everyone else will be doing.

For a Sat Bridal Shower I would suggest Farrago's in midtown. They have bottomless mimosa brunch on Sat and Sun and I have done a shower there. I am also starting my bachlorette there then doing a pub crawl thru midtown since it is all walkable and then a $6 cab ride to Downtown hotels.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
