Any advice for selling my 'once upon a time' wedding dress?

Recommended Posts

Ok, so once upon a time, I was engaged to another man and I had bought a really pretty Monique Luo dress that i loved. Ivory, flattering fit, sooo damn purty... Then that engagement was called off (details involved his family being very racist against the idea of their precious son marrying a Spanish woman and they threatened to totally cut him off... Now, we'd been together for about 8 years at that point... apparently they cut off his gonads at a young age so he his spine was also affected along the way...). All for the best though because my current fiance (who was a friend of mine all along) stepped up and got this romance cranking and well, the rest is history... I can't very well wear a dress I bought for another wedding to another man, right? So I bought another dress that I LOVE and now am having a hard time selling my original dress that is un-altered, un-worn and realllly pretty. Where's the best place to sell it? It's not a fancy designer one but really nice none-the-less.

Any advice Ladies?

On a side note....good decision on leaving the ex...if he couldn't stand up to his family to marry you...the rest of your life would have had problems! Glad you found Mr. Right! wink.gif
Thanks Michelle! You're absolutely right. I let out constant 'phew's when thinking back to what I would have had to deal with for the rest of our lives had I not put my foot down. The almost MIL even slapped my hand one time because I wasn't putting together her son's meal properly. Yep, slapped. Grrrr... Yeah, I couldn't get past that.

I'm currently posting it on CL so ebay may be next.

I've posted it on Craigslist but maybe I'm pricing it wrong? I paid about $600 or so for it originally and now I'm taking the price down to $390 obo (is this still too expensive?) . Here's the post for it on CL. BRAND NEW - Monique Luo WEDDING DRESS -SIZE 8 - Never Altered

It's a size 6, ivory colored with boning and pics are on the CL listing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
