No we are not talking about the wedding night... we need a lawyer or gov official to help us.

Does anyone know if there is a consumer protection or a attorney general in Cancun or Riviera Maya area to help with a hotel that is ripping us off?

Can anyone suggest a lawyer also?

Whaaattt? What happened? You may have some recourse here in the US depending on the nature of what happened...

I'm so sorry! I always worry about this b/c I figure that the contracts we sign must have limited legal validity...I think that a lot of us just go on recommendations from other brides and hope for the best. Do you have a travel agent with experience in the area that can advise you?

Some more details on the issue may help people give you advice?

I hope that everything works out. You should let the other girls on the forum know what happened.

I agree with Erika, more details needed. What's your definition of getting screwed?
                  Hope it all works out.

Check with local attorneys in your area....some are licensed to practice internationally, even more common for us/canada or us/mexico...will be costly though!

I don't mean to be rude, but why would you post this without giving any details? All this will do is get brides getting married in that area worried. We'd be more than happy to help if you fill us in.
