Question about Victoria Secret Dresses??

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies,

I'm from Canada and there is no Victoria Secret located here and I was looking online at purchasing my BM dresses through them. I just want to purchase something like...

Victoria's Secret - The Beach Dress

or along those lines. My BMs picked them because they are so beachy. They want a dress they could wear over again if they wanted.

My question to all of you who have ever purchased from VS is what is the fit like. Is it very clingy and unforgiving? My BMs are tiny so that shouldn't be a problem, but I'd still like to be able to tell them if the dress will stick to their body like glue. Any info on these or any beachy dresses for VS would be greatly appreciated.

I'll let you know when i get home - my order arrived today and got the beach dress in Orange! Their dresses generally fit well. if it looks tight on the model it's a fitted dress - the beach dress is 18' from the waist so it's not very long but not too short either.

Hi! I actually purchased this style for myself in brown last year... Love the dress for the beach. Warning though. The material is SUPER casual and if I were your BMs, go for the longer length to keep it more formal. Personally, I would go for a more flowy material, since this one is on the thicker stiffer side (and isn't as flowy in person as the photo). But it can DEFINITELY be used again and again at the beach coverup or as a sun dress. If anything, you can buy one, and see if u like it (it's so inexpensive, and you can return for free).

Since I am a big fan of modal/jersey dresses for the beach, may I recommend you looking at an etsy seller, Isadora Clothing (Isadora by isadoraclothing on Etsy).

I ordered from her twice in the past, and I think your BM's would LOOOOOVE these dresses. It's much pricier than the VS dress, BUT you get at least 7 styles AND each BM can wear it in a style that flatters her (TOTALLY worth the $). These are convertible dresses, and I was actually going to order one more for this summer in orange or turquoise. She also lines them for a little extra.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the replies. I would prefer a longer size. The size options are 18' from the waist & 23' from the waist. Is the 23' down to the knees?? If so, I think I would prefer that.

I gave them the convertable dress option as well, and it seems my girls are still wanting to go in the VS dress direction...unfortunatley sad.gif I would like it to be alittle more formal but they are travelling all the way to Mexico for me & I want them to wear what makes them comfortable. I just hope there boobs aren't popping out the whole night. lol...i'd rather my FI be looking at me and not their business...lol

lol. that's what i forgot to post too. My dress is pretty low cut. and i'm a C cup size, so your bm's girls may hang out a bit, unless they tie the halter straps st the top pretty tight. go with the 23 inch length, cuz the 18" one will be too short. I got the 18" one, and I'm only 5'0" and it's pretty short on me. i'm sure there are other similar dresses out there (check out the brand Tart on google, or Sky Clothing at www.unicamelrose which are higher end jersey/modal dresses with sexy embellishments). If your BMs love their dresses, that's all that matters, and you are the bride, so i'm sure your groom will only see you on your special day. good luck!

I was on line yesterday looking at VS dresses and fell in love. I haven't run it past any of my BM yet but there are a few that are def. in the running.

I'm from Ontario so if any Canadian's out there have ordered & received dresses can you help me out with cost for shipping? or return policy? did you have any problems ordering to Canada?

Happy planning!

Cheers

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
