Sandals St. Lucia or Antigua anyone?

Recommended Posts

My fiance and I have Sandals ST. Lucia on our top 2 list.

We have been trying to narrow this down.

THe dream is st. lucia but fear the time for travel for people.

We have a large wedding party and large guestlist to accomidate.

WE anticipate 60 people. Is St. Lucia the sort of place to have a wedding that size. The pictures of the resorts look amazing?

Is it c lose to town for our guests to get out and explore.

Any feedback on the sandals in st. lucia or antgua would be great.

Thanks

Hi there! From friends who have travelled to both places, they are all in love with both. We are vacationing to Sandals Antigua for our anniversary trip next february. We were married at Beaches T&C this past January.

I think they are both gorgeous and almost the same amount of distance. I think its a win/win situation. Good luck!

Hi Thanks Meagan...How did you like the Beaches at T And C?

We stopped there on a cruise, T and C for one day and LOVED IT.

That beaches is the only all inclusive there. Did you love it?

I know with ST. Lucia it seems amazing.

My fear is travel for our guests.

We live in STL, have a big chunk of our guests coming from Charlotee, Chicago, La, etc so all over.

Fear the traveltime but seems so amazing...thanks

I'm a Sandals St. Lucia bride as well. I choose this island over Antigua because of the possibility of a large wedding party. The fact that St. Lucia had 3 resorts (and the Stay at 1 - Play at 3 option). It meant that our guests could stay at any of the resorts.

I've been assured by my WC that the resort, venues for the ceremony, etc would be more than large enough to accommodate everyone.

Good luck with your choice. I'm sure you'll have a perfect DW regardless of which one you choose.

Hi Christy, we also did Beaches T&C and loved it! Yes it's a family resort vs a couples resort but we still had a great time and the beaches were beautiful. DH & I have been seriously looking at St. Lucia for our honeymoon next year because it just looks amazing with the volcano & the excursions that are available.

I apologize for being so late to answer- it's been a crazy busy spring !

Both locatiosn are amazing and offer quite different experiences!

For larger groups I would recommend St. Lucia for a couple of reasons!

1. More flight availability- Antigua can be tough to get to-especially when you have so many guests coming from different locations.

2. A variety of resort "styles" and price points to chose from! It's really nice as your guests can find teh resort that best suits what they want in a vacation and not feel so locked into your choice!

3. A variety of price points- Sandals Halcyon while a smaller resort it is also less expensive!

4. Stay at one of the 3 Sandals and they have full access ( and transportation to the other two!).

5. Gives you the opportunity to have some private time with your fiance bith pre & post wedding! With your guests having other options it is really nice to not worry about them being "there" all the time!

6. More options for tours. Antigua is a bit more of a laid back experience where St. Lucia offers adventure from ocean experiences, island hopping to rainforest activities.

That is not to say that people shouldn't get married at Sandals Antigua- we've had soem wonderful weddings there where everyone fell in love with teh island- it just really depends on what you want and your guests need!

Hope that helped!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
