Beach Condition of El Dorado Royale

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I am considering the El Dorado Royale, any of you experienced ladies our there know what the beach condition is like?

I would like my ceremony on the beach and usually spend most my time beaching when on these types of vacations....

THANKS!

I would like some honest feedback on this too. I've heard mixed reviews on this from people. I know that it's definitely not the ideal "white sand, swim beach" that we're used to at some of the other hotels we've stayed at in Cancun, and I'm well aware that there are plenty of "whales" in the water to break up the waves. However, my FI is concerned that our guests who are looking forward to lounging on the beach will be disappointed with the quality at EDR.

Any thoughts?? Surely with a resort that covers nearly a mile of beach, there has to be parts of it that range from decent to pretty good.

It's definitely not the blue water of cancun, but it's still nice. It is a great resort, lots of ceremony locations and lots to do. I don't think your guests will be disappointed by the beach. Yes, they do have the sand bags in the water, but you can still go in the water, you can still lay on the sand, and there are still lots of water activities that people can participate in.

I'm sure if you do a beach ceremony that your photographer can angle the pictures to avoid getting the sand bags in your shots.

When we were there in October of last year, I too was surprised by the sand bags, but they really only affect part of the beach. There are several areas, especially down by the casitas, that have few or none at all. And yes you can get in the water and still have a good time. I saw several people actually snorkeling around the bags, and they did not look too bothered. Also a lot people would just sit on the beach in the water.

If you are looking for an area that will not have sandbags in your pictures, then choose Gazebo 55 or the Presidential Gazebo. There is also one down by the Casitas, but I can't remember the name.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
