When to send out Thank You cards..

Recommended Posts

SDBeachgirl, we're getting married at the ZLAC rowing club on Mission Bay. We're staying at the Catamaran right down the street. I love the idea of just walking down the bayside path to my wedding! Phil's BBQ is doing our catering, and I think I'm going to order my cake from Cupcakes Squared in Point Loma. I was actually born and raised in SD, and my family is there. I just moved to Houston in September to be with my fiance. How funny that I'm getting married the day before your bday, because you're getting married ON my bday!!

How long have you lived in SD? Where do you live?

That's really bizarre! I grew up in SD. I only lived in Houston (Clear Lake) until I was about 3. I went to highschool at Mission Bay High. I lived right across from the catamaran on sail bay for about 7 years prior to buying my condo in Scripps Ranch.

Welcome back! I'm sure your wedding will be beautiful right on the bay. I love that area. We see weddings at the rowing club all the time when we ride our bikes down to the beach.

What area did you grow up in?

Sorry to have totally gone off track of this blog. Just kinda funny. Small world!

I am going to integrate my escort/seating cards with my thank you cards. I found some 3x5 trifold pretty cards that will allow me to stamp out the person's name and write a message inside. Then again, I only have 19 guests, so its doable to write them all at once now :) I want to thank them for coming to the wedding on the wedding day so we don't have to do it after!

Good thing that I read this thread - we are starting to receive gifts from the registry and I was going to send out the Thank You cards to those who cannot make the wedding but sent a gift. I wasn't sure if I should wait until the actual wedding. I don't want them to think that I didn't appreciate it but then again, it seems too early to send it since we aren't even married yet! Hmmm.

Sita&Nate,

We too are using the escort cards as thank you cards as well. Actually our "escort cards" are actually message in a bottles and the message in the bottle will be a thank you scroll. I was second guessing doing the thanks you's this way as many people say it should be personalized. But I think it is a cute touch that would be appreciated by my guests, Thoughts? Do thank you's have to be personalized?

ya know what.. i say DO IT.. send out a pre-thank you card..

I hate when i go to a wedding and I dont get a thank you card for months after.

if they were thoughful enough to send out a gift early i say return the kindness with a little extra special early thank you card. then BAAAMM double up with a second one after the wedding. :)

Great thread- I was having the same issue. I think I am going to send thank you notes as I get the gifts up until about a month before the wedding and then do a photo card for the remainder of the gifts, which I will also resend to the early gift givers.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
