Going to that Walmart in Playa is an Awsome idea! and then we dont have to fill our suitcases. Good thinking Lady

Just wait...it's a bit different from the WalMarts you know and love at home, but it worked.  Be prepared for nothing to be bilingual, but by using "animated" communication, we got the job done.  Everyone was very nice, and we all kept our sense of humor!  There is a line of taxis outside the store, and people are there to help you load.  We had a charming young boy and his father help us, and these guys work for tips.  It's one of those experiences we'll always remember with a smile!

We had 60 bags to fill and we didn't have any trouble getting what we needed at WalMart.  We may have had trouble getting that quantity at a regular grocery store, but maybe not.  Perhaps other people might have some other suggestions.

Hi Ladies!

We're getting married at Dreams Palm Beach, Punta Cana on Feb 9th 2011!!

So far we have 47 people booked : )

We sent out our STD's in March, I ordered my dress last month and my bridesmaids have their adorable fuchsia dresses.  We have pants for the Groomsmen but ran into an issue with the shirts we had picked out so I'm on a mission to quickly find them shirts before all the stores are sold out of their summer stock.

We're looking into travel mugs for our guests, does anyone know of any reasonable vendors?

Happy Wedding Planning!!

That's so cool we're wedding date twins! We actually almost booked Barcelo Maya, the gazebo looks gorgeous! We have been to Aventura before, though, and love it, so we went with that. Good luck planning and have fun!

How's everyone doing with the planning?

We still dont have very much done lol.  Almost all of our guests have booked on an early booking group rate we were able to get, and we are STILL working on invitations but thats as far as we've gotten.  Invitations are probably not even necessary at this point but it would feel weird to not do them :)

Still searching for a photographer and THE dress... feels like I'm running out of time for the dress part :S

I saw you said you were looking for the photographer

If you love the Del Sol style, but would prefer a more economical choice. Did you see that Matt, Owner of Del Sol is starting another company under the Del Sol umbrella called La Luna. They are almost half the price! I think they start around 400 per hour

Their website is located HERE -> http://www.lalunaphotographers.com/

You should take a look; I believe some of the pictures posted on the website are of Best Destination Wedding Brides.

I booked Matt for my wedding. I cant wait wait wait. I check there site like once a day.

Thanks so much for that suggestion!!  I had contacted Del Sol, but they were out of our budget so I will definitely look into La Luna :)

We're not going the group rate route as we haven't yet found anything that makes it worth while for us. I just sent out a mass email to everyone invited to let them know we'll be booking by mid-month and if anyone needs help with booking to let us know. It's prompting people at this point to make a decision one way or the other. We right away had some no's come through, which I was actually happy about....strangely enough! I'm just happy it's going to give us a better idea of who is actually coming and we can stop wondering about the others!

We just booked our engagement photos with an amazing photographer here......who will actually be in cancun for the month of Feb. and so we decided to hire him for our wedding as well!!! I'm so super happy b/c the package will include casual shots the day before the wedding, the wedding, and a trash the dress!! Super happy something finally worked out for us!

I bought them this month and hopefully they will be out by the end of Sept beginning of October.  I thought the same thing, it will be nice to have them all out before the holidays.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
