congrats Abbie! (if that's your name. lol) Good thinking holding off on invites. things can change on a dime! Pricing in April can be crazy because of Easter so make sure your TA tries a few different arrival/departure options to get you the cheapest price. good luck!

I'm getting married at Secrets Maroma Resort in Riviera Maya. What about you? I'm having a hard time finding decent rates (similar to everyone else it seems). I sent out save the dates on April Fool's Day of this year (giving everyone exactly a year to save!) so I figure I'd wait until January to send out the actual invites. We're also having a local reception in June of 2011 so I figure I'll include the save the dates for that date in the actual invites.

Have y'all checked expedia? So far one of the only places giving me prices. Looking at 8 days, 7 nights from small town I live into Houston, then Houston to Mexico. Looking like about $1400 per person. I am thrilled! Not going to book yet, I know I can get a better deal later. But the price isn't bad, I could honestly book now just to get it over with. Haha, the wait is killing me.

I found my travel a little cheaper through Expedia too, the only difference is that I havea a non stop airfare, and transfers are included in my price. So the $880 total that I would save through going through expedia isn't wort it to me. This way I only have two hours on a non stop flight as opposed to swiching in Charlotte (the opposite direction from me...lol) and my way from airport to hotel is covered.

April 19, 2011 at Dreams La Romana, Dominican Republic.

We've sent out emails + created a group on FB. and called the ones who refuse to use email. We included a little save the date picture that they print and put up on their fridges so they dont forget wink.gif

We have a travel group rate that we've sent out to everyone but are leaving it pretty much open for ppl to book their own trip if they want to but we've asked the wedding party, if possible $$, to make the reservation with us within the next month.

Woo!! That is exactly why I picked the date I did! I'm getting married April 30, 2011, the weekend after Easter. I was trying to avoid Easter weekend, miss hurricane season in Jamaica, and still get in on the low-season rates-and I did it!

Oh well once I get going I will blow right through most of the detailing... Anyone else getting married at The Royal? It seems the place is booking up fast... Anyway I am so excited to have found this forum and am trying really hard not to be an addict, but I think its too late!:)

Lookin forward to sharing the next 10 months with you all and helping each other stay sane! hehe

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
