any other april 2011 brides actually book yet?

FI and i have reserved our wedding date/time at the Riu Negril but it is not confirmed until we have a booking number (have until Aug to get this). We basically have to work on booking right away but I suppose guests don't have to right away?

Our imemdiate family and friends know about the DW and the date, but we still really wanted to send out STDs to everybody which will include a link to our website filled with travel info. I was thinking of sending the actual invite November-ish? giving those who haven't booked by then lots of time still.

My only question to you guys - have you had luck with group rates? ie. I just got an amazing group rate quote, however it's only good for 60 days... would like to be able to have a group quote good for like 6 months or so. thoughts?

I have booked and put our deposit down for the resort for wedding and honeymoon. I decided not to book for the group because I can't determine from now who is seriously going to be coming for our wedding being a destination and all.

I have also only sent out email save dates so far and 2 couples have already booked. I will be sending paper save the dates also especially to thoes who have no email addresses.

But now that people are booking it really feels REAL.

I am getting married April 29, 2011 at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana. We managed to get a fantastic group rate leaving from NB of 1400 taxes in! And somehow manage to get 19 booked n confirmed was a little stressfull getting it done in less than two weeks but did it! And now soooo excited and feels reall!!!

Happy Planning!! :)))

i haven't even really thought about going dress shopping yet, but i'll probably be nervous as well when the time comes. we're trying to do this dw on a very tight budget so i promised myself i'd spend under $500 on the dress. it just so happens i found out about a store in Toronto (near me) where every single dress is brand new (from collections from 2008 or older) and every single dresss is $299!! i don't think i'm going to be very picky so i've decided that once i have the cash saved up, i will go. :)

..i'm also trying to put off my dress shopping as long as possible because i'm not very good at keeping secrets from my FI - especially if it's something i'm excited about!!! keeping the dress a secret will be a BIG DEAL for me!!! lol

are there any david's bridal stores in your area? i've seen many amazing dresses on their website for under $200. Unfortunately with me being in Canada, there's no stores here where i could even try on and i'm not too keen on the idea of just buying a dress online. maybe you could find your dream dress there?
good luck!!! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
