Good for you for being mostly calm!!  I hope everything goes well today and you are able to pick it up...  Hopefully it will look good and all your worries will go away!

I get to pick my dress up on Saturday at the latest!  I may be able to go tomorrow afternoon and get it!  SO excited!

Good point on the dress.  My one hesitation is that my parents would have to take it in order for it to go on US Air's plane, and I don't know how I feel about not bringing it with me.  Though, I just realized that I have to bring it with me, because it needs to get steamed in time and that won't happen if it comes with my mom because she arrives the day before the wedding!  I'm so glad we just talked this out!

Mocha, it sounds like you have some great neighbor girls!

Brandy, how'd the fitting go?

I did my BD shoot last night and it was SO fun!  I couldn't believe some of the shots she was getting of me.  I hardly recognized myself.  We started at her studio, then went to a local hotel room with some great windows.  I had a good friend come along who was authorized to give me any feedback on a pose/face/etc.  I kept trying not to laugh b/c I don't exactly have a "sexy face".  Plus, I had consumed some champagne and wine to unwind after my day.  Loooong story short, but I found a breast lump last Sunday, called my good friend who's a breast cancer surgeon, had her feel it and she took me right in to her office to sono it.  She wanted me to do a full work-up, but the earliest I could get into the women's imaging place was yesterday so 3 hours before my BD shoot, I was having a breast sonogram and mammogram.  Not exactly setting the mood.... But, my results were negative on the lump:)  So the drinks started flowing on my way to get my hair done.

I can't wait to see the pics!  He has no idea.  And I have a trunk full on lingerie and stilettos since I couldn't exactly bring those back with me from "hot yoga class".  Oopsie;)

I'm glad your books have reappeared in the mail ladies!  That could make for one awkward exchange if it had been accidentally delivered to a neighbor...

Greta, don't know how I missed your post. So sorry to hear about your scare. But what a great way to celebrate being negative! Congrats. Brandy, that totally sucks about the dress. But hopefully a good steaming at your resort will get out every last unwanted wrinkle. That's totally lame about the seamstress lying to you. I still have one more fitting, so fingers crossed over here. Erin, I'm flying USAir down and I talked them a while back. They said they don't have closets for the dress, it has to be a carry-on that you put in the overhead bin. Despite flying to the DR, somehow that's not international, so we'll be paying extra baggage fees for sure. However, I was told that sometimes they have upgraded a bride and groom to first class at check in, so it doesn't hurt to ask when you get there. Brandy, you should definitely try that.

Greys- so happy everything turned out ok for you!

Brandy - brutal about your dress - hopefully they have it all sorted out, and no matter what you will feel beautiful on your big day!!

francine - good luck getting your date booked!!

So, for countdowns, I have 4 days of work left, leave in 7 days and get married in 12!  My last day of work is next thursday, and I leave Thursday night!  Kinda of brutal, but I don't have much vacation time to spare....  Good thing I have everything done - the only thing left on my to-do list is to pack my clothes......

Brandy, I'm sorry to hear about your dress, but on the plus side at least this led to you finding out about the cups! Is she putting the right ones in now at least? Maybe more volume will help with the creasing?? You are going to look so beautiful, that no one will notice a couple creases so don't you worry!!

I have my second dress fitting on Monday and I'm worried!!! I made the appointment right after my bd shoot and told her to go ahead and take it in because I was down 5 pounds... well I haven't gone to the gym since my bd because I was sick and then I fell down the stairs at work and hurt myself (stupid March snow storm!) and am now up 4 pounds!!! Looks like Sunday night will mean the laxitive diet for me!! (sorry if that is TMII!)

Thanks Ladies for the kind words! I hadn't slept well since Sunday when I found it, & am quite relieved. Being in medicine for me means I know just enough to be a worrier about worst case scenarios. • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
