Francine, I feel bad for you that none of your family is going.  That's a pretty cruddy way of telling you but I'm sure she was uncomfortable telling you over the phone, thus did it via email.  Do you have a best friend that is going with you, maybe your maid of honor could give you away :).  She could easily fill two rolls!  Hang in there.  Hopefully  things will work out just fine.  You are marrying your best friend and someone you want to spend the rest of your life with!

I would just say shop around, there are sooo many jewelers in that area downtown, tons I each building, it can get quite overwhelming. I'm sure you will find something. Enjoy your stay here. Let me know if you need anything else, hopefully I can be of more assistance ;-)

Erin, I just bought my chair sashes, based on what they look like I don't think they'd be too hard to make. It's just a single long piece of fabric with finished edges. If you choose to, good luck! Weren't you the one without much of a to-do list? Are you just trying to find things to do?

On a sad note, looks like I won't have anyone from my side at the wedding. My sister sent me a very vague email yesterday saying that she feels badly but she won't be able to make it. I can't tell you how disappointed I am. My parents paid for her trip, she's currently working for my father, so it's not like she can't get the time off. I think what upsets me the most is that she couldn't even call me to tell me the reason. My parents probably aren't going to make it either, :-(. Who's going to walk me down the aisle? I guess I could walk myself, but it is just a shame that I'll be arriving in a beautiful horse and carriage (part of the wedding package) all alone :-(.

At least I'm marrying the best guy in the world and we will become our own family. And his parents, who I love, live only 3 blocks from us and we are very close.

For everyone having a tough time right now, hang in there!  The pre-wedding stress with your FI and family will be over before you know it.  I'm dealing with the stress of an ex-husband and a parenting plan I want changed but have to put it off until after the wedding so it doesn't drive me crazy.

Try and think of the positive things of a DW and how beautiful it will be with the love of your life.

I'm excited because I got a lot of things finished yesterday and today -

  •   Completed my daughters bouquet, the boutonnieres and wrist corsages for the parents and my starfish ring holder.  And I have to say, I think they look amazing.
  •   Scheduled final time to meet with the AHR DJ and the venue manager to pick out linen colors and finish details.
  •   Secured spots for my dogs for 10 days while we are gone (that one's gonna hurt when I see the bill).
  •   Met with the caterer for the AHR and decided on food etc...
  •   Finished our ceremony wording

Now I have to do the sand ceremony frame, wrap up favor boxes and cut my music. Then I believe I'm done with the wedding stuff and will only have to focus on the rest of the AHR items. I'll do these the week after we return home just before the AHR.

I also received my lanyards and card holders from Laura.  Thanks so much!  The color is PERFECT!!!    Now I just have to make my inserts.  Thanks again Laura!!!!

Laura, glad to hear you had a great time and got a nice little gift! We have received 3 cheques so far and we haven't sent thank you cards but called and said thank you to one and said thank you personally for the other two and will send all the thank yous at the same time. We are also keeping a spreadsheet of gifts received so not to forget. Also one of my staff went to a cousins wedding over 6months ago and hasn't gotten a thank you and she is PISSED. At the end of April if she doesn't get one she is asking for her gift back bahahahaha

Oh and never go to bed mad for sure. That is the best way to keep a relationship together!

Speaking of stress and fights with FI's I had a bit of meltdown this weekend and told FI he needs to step it up and help me out and today on his day off he cut the ribbons for the welcome bag tags, put labels on shot glasses, cleaned the house and did some research online for our honeymoon in greece. He also came shopping with me at Micheals yesterday (he HATES that place) and we got a flower girl basket and i added flowers to it. I bought the same center piece for my hair flower as Laura and finished that, bought some cardstock and brads for my fan programs which are too small for my whole punch so back to the drawing board on that one! I fell MUCH better today!

Greys you dress looks beautiful on you!

BRANDY-WHERE ARE YOU!!!! lol

Michelle - Im so sorry to hear about your family not going. FI is sort of in the same boat but at least his parents are going. We will have 21 guests and only 2 of them are on his side :( i feel terrible and he says it doesnt bother him but i know it has to that his brother isnt going and his close friends. Have you thought about maybe having his dad walk you down the isle since he's going to be your FIL? Just a thought

Also had to share i received my guestbook in the mail today. I ordered it from etsy a couple weeks ago and then never heard from the lady so i was starting to get a bit nervous. But i was pleasantly surprised when i came home today and it was here and i LOVE it!

also forgot to mention that we got our suits from studiosuits today and am overall happy with them, need a little hemming here and there and i accidently ordered one of the vests in the wrong color beige thatswck.gifbut at the same time would have expected them to email me to verify that i wanted 1 item out of 7 in a different color than the rest. So im pissed at myself and frustrated with them! Hoping they can get me a new one asap or FIs dad wont be wearing a vest, which isnt the end of the world but would have looked nice .

Tiera - I would have thought they would let you know too - that's too bad, I hope that the new one arrives quickly!!

Meggers - so the spoon trick removes redness? how long does it last? I am a crier also - I don't want to have red eyes in my pictures!!

So, my work threw me a surprise wedding shower today! A Jamaican-themed potluck with a ton of Jamaican foods. Everyone loved it because it was something they normally wouldn't have made and the food was so good!

Anyways, I had to share the cupcakes that someone made - so cute and so clever!!cupcakes.JPG

Grey's I love your dress you look gorgoeus! Meggers that is awesome about the shopping spree! That is exactly what i plan to do as soon as I arrive in America, i have 2 days in l.a and then 4 in vegas before we fly to Mexico, clothes are sooooo expensive in Australia! Tisha i think your rings look lovely together but it is very hard to tell in a photo, you need to be happy with them. Laura sorry you and your FI had a fight i think we are all just having a very stressful time at the mo!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
