Thank you.  If you have any suggestions for jewelers that would be great.  We are heading to the diamond district as soon as we arrive to hopefully get our wedding bands!!

Too bad you couldn't have just told him the wife took the pictures and the husband had nothing to do with it.

Victoria, congrats on the fitting. I saw on another forum that you're going to be in LA for a few days before the wedding? If you need ideas of anything to do while here, let me know. I've lived in LA for over ten years.

Lisa, those fans sound like a pain.  I've been going back and forth on the idea, but since we're only having 14 people, one of which is my photographer, one is officiating the wedding, and four of which are the parents, that only leaves eight people sitting and watching, it just doesn't seem like it's necessary. I do like the idea of the program, but we don't have a wedding party so I wouldn't really know what to put on it, especially because I'm writing the ceremony myself.

Happy weekend ladies. Can't believe we have so few of these left as single ladies!!

Victoria, unfortunately we got my e-ring at a chain store, I bought my band online and FI got his in Hawaii, can't be of much help in that regard. I would just say shop around, there are sooo many jewelers in that area downtown, tons I each building, it can get quite overwhelming. I'm sure you will find something. Enjoy your stay here. Let me know if you need anything else, hopefully I can be of more assistance ;-) Erin, I just bought my chair sashes, based on what they look like I don't think they'd be too hard to make. It's just a single long piece of fabric with finished edges. If you choose to, good luck! Weren't you the one without much of a to-do list? Are you just trying to find things to do? On a sad note, looks like I won't have anyone from my side at the wedding. My sister sent me a very vague email yesterday saying that she feels badly but she won't be able to make it. I can't tell you how disappointed I am. My parents paid for her trip, she's currently working for my father, so it's not like she can't get the time off. I think what upsets me the most is that she couldn't even call me to tell me the reason. My parents probably aren't going to make it either, :-(. Who's going to walk me down the aisle? I guess I could walk myself, but it is just a shame that I'll be arriving in a beautiful horse and carriage (part of the wedding package) all alone :-(. At least I'm marrying the best guy in the world and we will become our own family. And his parents, who I love, live only 3 blocks from us and we are very close.

Awwwwwwww don't think that. It's tough....I think a lot of us have had to deal with weird family drama regards to DW. Keep your head up. I know it must be very disappointing for you to not have any of your own side at your wedding. I imagine your sister feels just awful and handled it poorly by emailing you. She probably wouldn't be able to call you and not been emotional about it. That's what happened with my MOH. I can relate to you very much. Focus on the positive - I'm sure your family loves you very much and would love to be there if possible.

Not to be super lame sauce and a cheese ball, but cinderella arrived in her carriage alone too. :) do you have a very dear friend that could give you away? maybe your MOH....that would be such a super special thing actually :)

Yes, I was the one with a very short to-do list.... that's the bad part of it, I don't have a lot to do, so I was just thinking that because we had the extra fabric from the BM dresses, I could use it as chair sashes...

I'm sorry to hear about your family... it does totally stink..  I know I was really disappointed when I found out that my brother wasn't going to be able to go.  It's a tough situation to have no family there, I hope your parents can at least find a way to go....  Otherwise I know it will put a damper on things, just remember...you are marrying the one for you and the two of you being there is the most important thing...

Aww Sherri I'm so sorry to hear that! He's being so silly. Photographers are professionals doing their job; just like a doctor. Would he be mad at you for going in for your yearly check up? Probably not (and those doctors get a lot more "familiar" you know?). Do you think that maybe the distance between you is adding to his insecurities? If yes then combined with your obvious unhappiness with your job maybe you really should consider doing something closer to home. Hopefully you can make him see how ridiculous he's being. If I were you I'd be pissed that he would ruin something that you were so nice to do for him. You did nothing wrong, so chin up honey.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
