Brandy, I totally forgot the list for this weekend!

So...plans for my weekend...

Going to get my dress (which I'm kind of scared because the seamstress has been a nightmare)...

Get the songs together that I have, and then get the list to a friend for the rest of the songs on our play list.

Do the seating chart!

Other than that, I think that's it...

Well, it ended up being a small thing turned into a BIG thing...  The seamstress I used for my dress, my MOH and BM used for their dresses.  Things have been fine (so far) with my dress, but my MOH and one of the BM had to bring their dress to a different seamstress to have the work the first one did, fixed.  When they brought it to this other seamstress (who I was debating on using to begin with), she was able to do what they needed, with no problem.  (Background info: All of the dresses were purchased the beginning of 2010, when we were planning our non-DW for Sept. 2010.  So, at that time my MOH was pregnant, and would have had the baby 2 months prior to the Sept. date.....  SO, her dress was 2-3 sizes bigger, which would allow them to take it in, depending on how much she had lost.)

So, my MOH needed a lot taken in on her dress, plus a couple of darts put in on the part that covers her chest (since she had finished breast feeding).  When we went up two weeks ago, the darts were off centered and she had only taken it in along part of it, rather than the whole thing, so she had all this material bunched up on her hips.  Her dress wasn't suppose to be finished last time, because she wanted to wait until she was done breast feeding to have the top part fixed...

For the BM that had to take it to a different person, the original seamstress only took part of her dress out...the outer-most layer (there are 2 or 3 layers to the dress).  So, BM couldn't breath, because the dress shop ordered a smaller size than BM wanted to begin with.  Each time she told the seamstress that it hadn't fixed anything, the seamstress continued to get more and more mad at poor BM.  Come to find out....she wasn't actually touching the part that was making it so tight on BM.

Now, everything has been fixed...but this other lady.  But when MOH and BM went to the 2nd seamstress, we found out that the first lady wasn't even suppose to take our work...  there are 4 different shops in the state run by the same company, and the work that came out of the shop we went to, was suppose to go to seamstress #2....seamstress #1 was suppose to take work from a different store.  So, I feel like we not only got really crappy work, but a seamstress that over charged my girls for work she wasn't even suppose to do.  I'm debating on what I'm going to say to the seamstress, because right now, she thinks she's pulled something over on us....

(Sorry, that was long...but I had to tell it that way so you'd understand the whole story!)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
