Tonight was just such a weird experience!  We had a witness, which was my mother and I thought that was kind of cool because she was there for the legal part of it.  We went over to the house of a Justice of the Peace here in town.  It was me, FI, my mom, and the JP.  We did the vows and the exchanging of the rings.  Then we were done.  It was all of about.....10 minutes, if that.  I do have a picture of my rings together.  My wedding band is now back in the box and in our safe.  I'm not going to lie....I really want to wear my wedding band!

I just love it!!

So, when we got home, FI pulled out my Valentine's Day present...  Now, please realize that in the three V-day's FI and I have celebrated, I've only ever gotten one gift.  Our very first V-day he got me a single red rose, and said, I don't do V-day...so you probably won't get many other V-day gifts.  He just feels that it's a very commercialize holiday and doesn't need one day to show me that he loves me, and I accept that!  Anyway...  He got me a card, that was "For my Wife...."  and then got me another Pandora charm for my bracelet.  the charm was a heart, perfect for the whole day!

Tomorrow we'll go back to normal and I certainly won't feel any different, because I don't really at this point!

We decided to do it this way without our names so they would be more likely to use them again.  My thought is that if I were given a bag like that, I'd still use it because it just says when I went, rather than also having some random names on it...

I vote 1 or 4, depending on whether you want the seahorses before or after your names! There is alot of pink and orange around so I like the turquoise contrast for the writting but like the names in pink. All of them are gorgeous and only us picky brides will even notice this stuff lol

Brandy - I like #2.  I really think the green names pop, and allow you to focus on them a little more than the seahorses.  I think otherwise I focus right on the seahorses... With the pink, I feel like it all blends together.

Right now we each have work and personal cell phones, but no land line. It's so funny, he has a personal Toronto number, a work Hamilton number and my personal and work numbers are for Niagara. I will be sad to leave Fido since I have been with them for over 10 years, but his personal phone never gets used and still has at least one year on the contract with Rogers. We only kept my Fido for the unlimited LD. Now when we call to switch his phone I know what to ask for. The only US calls are to my sister and I don't plan on talking to her much after the wedding. She has just been horrible to deal with the last two years and I've had enough. She's my only sister, but I can't handle her anymore.

On another note, has anyone had trouble sleeping? I think I'm way too stressed and can't sleep through the night even though I am completely exhausted.

I have recently starting have nightmares...  Well, nightmares to me.  I keep dreaming about how it's my wedding day and there is NO music.  In my dream I didn't have enough time to get the music all figured out, so instead of telling FI or anyone that could help me, I keep "pretending" that I have lost it....knowing that I'm never going to find the play lists because they do not exsist!  (Can you tell what I have left basically?!)

It took 3 weeks for my luggage tag loops to get to me from the US. I sold them to a bride in the UK, shipped them on the 9th and she just msgd me saying they arrived yesterday!!!!! huh?!?!

Come to think of it... a friend of mine who lives in Brampton (maybe an hr from me) mailed me some cd's tuesday of last week and I still haven't seen them!!

The US postal service is absolutely terrible.  I've been trying to tell people this forEVER!  No one wants to listen!  I'm pretty sure my mailman is a theft!  Hopefully your stuff will come soon...  I hate waiting for packages!

Hi everyone!!  I am an April 16, 2011 bride!  . . .originally a Nov 2010 bride, but Hurricane Tomas hit St. Lucia and we had to reschedule. I have to admit it was devastating, but so happy April will be here so soon.

We are getting married in St. Lucia at the Ladera Resort... staying there for 7 days +5 more at Jade Mountain!! So exciting. Due to the change in date we lost a couple of previously booked guests--including my sister who is pregnant and will not be able to make the trip.  So right now we have 15 booked including us. We are having a pre-wedding dinner at the Jalousie Plantation -- outside event on the beach serving a caribbean buffet, dj, and fireworks!! Super excited about that!!  The wedding at the Ladera is going to be at their Wedding Pavilion in b/w the two Pitons, with a plated dinner at the hotel's restaurant and dancing afterwards at their bar where they have live music--definitely saved us some money with that.

After reading everyone's posts about their April weddings has gotten me re-excited about my wedding too!! Happy wedding planning to all!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
