I think all my STD's are complete. The envelopes just need to be sealed and stamped. I left them with my fiance because I had to leave town for a couple of months for work. Good luck to me planning a destination from the comfort of a hotel room 2000 km away from my fiance. Hopefully I will have time on the weekends to complete my passport invites.

We did a RSVP by date of November 1st.  I did this because I know people won't RSVP by that date more than likely... but I'm hoping that we do get most of them by the beginning of 2011...  So, although they have a date of 11/1, I'll be happy with getting the information by 1/11!  I have been saying, well, if you make the decision by 11/1 (wow, just realized that I have a lot of 1'st going on here), that gives you more time to save up, rather than deciding by 3/1 and not having much time to save from there.

Also, I'd like to know more than a month or two ahead how many we are anticipating for the OOT bags...

Guess I might have been a bit demanding lol cause my wedding is april 26th, 2011 and i sent out my invites second week of july and gave people till sept 15th to decide on the DW and the AHR on July 2nd. I did this for two reasons: to save on sending two invites and because the group rates and space availability were only guaranteed until sept 15th, 2010. But i figured better know sooner than later and we had personally called everyone invited and had 22 booked before the invites when out lol i figured either you are coming or you are not lol plus that gives them plenty of time to save and my group rate had a 12month interest free payment plan for those who needed it.

I wanted to do a RSVP date sooner than 11/1, but I decided I should give them some more time.  We haven't completed decided when we are doing the AHR, but had we known we would have put that in there, but not required an RSVP.  We plan to send invites to that after we get back.  I want to do an AHR towards the end of June, however FI thinks that's too soon, so I'm not sure what we'll do...

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who was a wee bit demanding! smile03.gif  We also sent out our invites in July (1st week) and gave our guests until September 1 to RSVP for our April 7, 2011 wedding.  Similar to you, we did not want the added costs of sending 2 invites and had a group reservation booked that was only guaranteed until September.  I definitely agree that people either know or they don't, if they are going to be able to go or not.  This has really helped us with planning and although we do still have a few "maybes" (which we are ok with), it helps give us a pretty good number of what to expect in Jamaica.

I wasn't even planning on doing RSVP's  - but now you guy have me reconsidering.  I was just going to go by the number of people who have booked through our resort.  And I'm not sending out my invites until maybe November.  I sent out the STD in March so everyone already know the what, when, where and who to call.  If you guys have read any of my past post, at this point I don't really care anymore who is coming as long as the FI and I are there I'm good....anyones who comes cool....if not that's cool too!  Selfish I know but I'm learning that we have to be that way sometimes, otherwise we as brides will go loco!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
