Teira - I really hope she figures out a way to attend. I'm sending out our invites tomorrow so I hope we start to hear back that lots of people will be attending.

As for you girls with all your snow talk... I've been in Saskatchewan for the last three months and it has snowed almost everyday for the last month! It's horribly cold and the roads are incredibly dangerous. I only like snow when you can still see the grass through it. I would gladly send it your way if I could. Two years ago, we were visiting my sister in Virginia at Christmastime and it was amazing to be able to sit outside. Last year, we drove there in a huge winter storm and everything was shut down because of the snow. Hopefully, this year will be somewhere in between.

Lua. We have TONS of snow right now too!! OMG. I know I live in Winnipeg, but geez.... last count I heard was 43 cm (17 inches)... and that was a week ago and we've been dumped on since this. It's getting ridiculous! I love the snow, but I HATE driving in it.

Is her reason $$ Teira?  That just stinks that she can't go, hopefully she'll figure something out.  Do you think that she could go if it was just her, but because they can't afford for both to go, she doesn't "want to go alone?"  I had a friend like that (actually in the wedding party), but we convinced her to just go.  Luckily she did because a month later she found out that her BF had been cheating on her for a few years (they had been together for 5 yrs) and even had an 8 year old daughter that she never know about.  Hopefully your BFF can make it still.

Part of me understands because it is expensive but atthe same time she's known for over a year and she Was one of the few people I talked to before we decided on a dw to be sure she'd be able to be there and she said of course now 4 months away she's backing out. I'm hoping she's just being dramatic and everything will work out but now I'm so stressed! confused.gif

Now, all this snow talk... I think the first and second storm we get, people always forget how to drive in it.  There are always so many accidents during the first couple of snow falls.  After that it usually gets better.  Did I hear correctly, is it a law in Canada where you have to have snow tires in the winter??

Yea, it was pretty bad....  For years her parents have been telling her that there was something weird about him and her parents NEVER liked him....but you know us girls sometimes, we don't want to listen to our parents.  Then pretty much the rest of her friends were like, there is something up, he's just not a good guy...  The one day there were problems with their internet connection at home and one thing led to another when she was trying to get it rebooted and she found all kinds of stuff on his computer...  It was so intense though (like the whole child thing...and that there were 3 girls he cheated on her with) that no one ever thought it would be that bad...  I just couldn't imagine being in that situation...

Hello Everyone!  I'm fairly new to the site and I am SUPER nervous that I haven't done something.  My fiance and I just got engaged in September, and we have April 2011 booked in Riviera Maya.  We have 17 + us going, so a perfect size in my mind anyway :)

I have my dress and my bridesmaids dress, scheduled alterations, and I am desperately searching for a photographer.  It's been hard to find one thats open and doesn't cost a fortune.  I'm actually quite surprised at what photographers charge in Mexico.

Anyway....if anyone has any "watch outs" or "dont forgets" for me, I would greatly appreciate it.  I feel like I haven't done enough to wedding plan.....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
