April 2011 Brides

I did two colors and just ordered twenty of each and I figured it I only have twenty or less, I'll put two colors together on the chair like some other bride on here did.  If I have more than twenty, I'll alternate colors from chair to chair.  I know I won't have more than forty, so I'm covered there.  It really is a good deal and if you re-sell them afterward on this site, even better. I was told that at my resort they charge $2.00 per sash and this way I paid less than a dollar each with tax and shipping.  Definitely check out the sash sharing/freecycle forum on here first and see if anyone is selling the colors you want.

Well rather than doing save the dates, invites for DW and invites for AHR I sent out an invitation that announced both events and gave people the option to choose either or both on the reply which I have almost all back and then some have told me if they don't make it down south then they will be at the AHR so i guestimated based on replies and conversations with guest how many would be there and ordered enough to cover 150 people at my AHR and will use enough for 50 at the DW. I figured out how many tables I would need including tables for buffet, alcohol, cake, head table and guest tables and ordered accordingly. I have about 125 written confirmations and assumed 25 more would show based on conversations but there may be drop outs also so who knows. Better to over estimate and then sell them after than not have enough. However if you are conservative with your numbers and are short just a few I am sure there is a rental place in your area where you could rent a few more if needed.

Good luck!

Today I went to a local floral place with my photographer (of all people), because you need an account to get in the door (they are like a wholesaler...).  I am SO happy I did!  I figured out what I'm doing for the three bouquets for the girls... see picture below...  I think I will do 6 in each bouquet... I love them and they feel almost real!  Now I just need to figure out what to do exactly with the guys... I know what I want, I just need to find the appropriate flowers!!

gah! hate the no edit option...

also found out that there's a very good chance that our rate might go down soon!! with signature vacations and our group package we have the option to take advantage of one price drop up to 60 days before departure.  So if it drops we get money back (since we've already paid)!!! *fingers crossed*

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
