I got bumped up to first class based on the number of people that booked with our group (FI didn't though - we were 2 people short!!) - first class with air canada gives me a baggage allowance of 3 70lb bags!!  Plus my carry on....  SO I think we'll be all set...  We're going for 2 weeks as well, but I seem to have sooo much stuff...  It isn't really the clothes that take up room and weigh down the bag - it's all the products that I need - hair stuff, body wash, lots of sunscreen, aloe, and the list goes on!

Tenny, what the hell??  What are they waiting for??  I would not be dealing well with that - are they just last minute type people?  I'm a planner, so I unrealistically expect everyone else to be too......

Mocha- I am also going to use rubbemade tubs for all the wedding stuff and am just going to get luggage straps to secure them closed. I did this when I moved home from Hawaii and it worked perfectly

Wow!! Three 70lb bags is awesome!!! We upgraded to club class with West Jet because they allow us 88 pounds to check each, and up to 33 pounds of carry on each. We're going for two weeks too and I could EASILY pack 88 pounds just in clothes! EEK! I am a notorious over packer, and for a dude FI doesn't exactly pack light either.

SO imagine my suprise when my TA tells me a month ago that we got downgraded to their sub carrier (CanJet) that only allows 35 lbs each of checked baggage!!! Plus they have no first class cabin and isn't all you can drink!!! I threw a fit and ended up having to move our trip ahead by three days so we could get a REAL Transat flight. I just can't believe they can do that to you!

Wow Tenny, I would be livid. Is FI not saying anything to them or asking why the HELL they haven't booked yet?

Meggers- Oh god I hope that doesn't happen to us because my father and a friend of his have upgraded to club class and I am using the extra luggage for all my STUFF. If I get switched to canjet I will freak too, cause now it is too late to do anything about it.

Mocha and Teira, I never even thought of rubber maid storage containers as an options. Does anyone know the size (not weight) allowances. I thought those might be too big?

Hanna- sorry to scare you! From canada the only tour operator that offers a package to our resort is sold out that week except for the 7 rooms i have release today as we needed less than 28 rooms that I had blocked and only needed 21 but the minute those are released to the public they will be gone fast. For you most of your guests are booking flight and hotel seperately so I don't think you will have to worry but I would check occupancy with the WC or Diana on Facebook because that is a very busy week and still considered peak season. There is only two months left so I wouldn't have your family wait much longer to book. Let me know what you find out.

    • Hundreds of years before, the basic jewellery were made out of seashells and bone, trees and animal skin. In the ancient times, the Egyptian jewellery first came into existence. Egyptian culture inhabited technology, gemstones, and precious metals early in comparison to other places. They were inspired by the culture of royalty and aristocracy which led to thinking noble like having a deep appreciation for luxury. This made them create impactful jewellery and leading trends. Copper was the first metal that came into existence through which we as humans got so many jewellery items.  However, the major focus on jewellery came when they discovered gold. This allowed the Egyptian to rule as the first jewellery maker. The ancient Egyptians valued adornment and were worn by both men and women.  Material and metals: The plethora of material which was used in the making of this Egyptian jewellery was basically gold and silver. Egyptian has mostly attracted towards gold and the availability of silver was less in Egypt as compared to any other place. The colour variation was due to the mixing of elements such as alloys like copper, iron, silver into gold.  Charm jewellery: It was then also an interesting concept to have charms in necklaces, bracelets and other jewellery items. It’s just they were made up of stones and precious or semi-precious jewellery. In this picture above the necklace is adorned with precious stones in different charms shapes. Gem and stones: The more royal pieces of Egyptian jewellery were adorned with the precious jewellery items. The gemstones were semi-precious stones, precious stones are other various gems. The most prized stone were lapis lazuli, rock crystal, and pearls. Emeralds were also found in these jewellery pieces. These were made from ground quartz and then molded into expensive gemstones. They are also used as charm jewellery when molded or carved in different shapes.
    • Congratulations! Where you are you getting married?
    • It’s my wedding five months from now and we badly need ideas because everyone’s mind is not working right now and I, as the bride, cannot even think of what I really want to have on my wedding day. I want something simple yet unique. Something that suits for Colombian women and bride. Can you help me out with this? Thanks! I will really appreciate your comments!
    • I know it is really tough job to get everything at best cost. I would like to suggest to contact local wedding planner or decorators to get the quotes. It will take some time but by comparing different quotes you will get the best package.
