Erin, I'm sorry you had such a rough night. I think it will be beautiful walking yourself down the aisle and presenting yourself to your FI. Parents don't realize that their words are the most hurtful we can hear. After all, we've been trying to please them for our entire lives. I hope your mom is understanding and supportive. Good luck with it all.

Which reminds me, we recently got back FI's birth cert and it doesn't list his father. The resort says they will take the parents names from the birth cert, I really don't want it known that his dad isn't listed. It's hard enough to explain that even though they have been together 30 years they aren't married and have different last names.

Does everyone have their FI's wedding day attire already?  We have looked a little bit but aren't sure what to get for him. I'd like him in a suit (since I already got the purple tie from Nordy's when I ordered my TTD) but he's worried he'll be hot.  My dress is a little too formal to have him in a short sleeved shirt I think.  Are any of your FIs wearing flip flops with their suits?

Greys - I never knew you were a runner too! that's great!!! I started running this time last year and have since done a few 5K and a 10K.  As hard as the 10K was, I was definitely hooked!!!!  One of my goals for this year is to to a half marathon so i figured why not start training now??? It's going to be nicer running a half in May vs later on in the summer when it's super hot anyway.  I found a simple training plan on about.com which I've modified a bit to include my horseback riding as well. Essentially it consists of 2 shorter training runs + 1 long run + 1 easy run a week along with cross training, and rest of course.  I'm excited to start!

As for FI's attire - he's wearing a light beige linen suit with a white short sleeved button up shirt and tie.. oh and yes, he's wearing flip flops

Lisa - don't be concerned over the quality of studiosuits.com - the stiching is amazing, and the fabric is definitely not thin or see through - we got the linen blend and it's actually pretty thick, and it's really good quality, especially for the price!

Lua - pretty dress for your mom - very tropical!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
