i'm going from a simple french name starting with a C and ending with an N .. so easy and pretty to write (although hard to pronounce properly)........... to a complicated polish name (also hard to pronounce) starting with an N and ending with a K!! lol that darn K!

Lua, I'm sorry to hear that... I consider myself a "girlie tomboy", if that makes any sense. I can count my girlfriends on one hand. Almost every friend I have is a guy. I seriously have my sister and two good girlfriends (one of whom isn't coming to my wedding.. but that's a whole other story), that's it. I'm concerned to see what they pull together for my bachlorette party... I have 1 female co-worker now who'd come, and maybe a few others, but it's going to be a small group.

3 months from today i will be Mrs. Wilson! pinkie.gif

Just set the dates for my bridal shower march 12th and bachelorette party march 19!

Brandy - i like the shirt tucked in with or without the tie

Laura - im sorry that you dont have anybody to throw you a shower or bachelorette party! Hopefully they will come through and you will be pleasantly surprised because you deserve to get all the fun traditions that come along with the wedding!

And i completely agree that you ladies are the ones i share all my wedding excitement, plans & details with. Im not sure if its because we're having a DW that people arent as interested in the planning process but i just had always imagined that my girlfriends would be going through the whole process with me but like Laura said she grew up and her friends havent quite as much. All my friends are also single and into partying all the time and FI and i have been together for over 6 years and have a daughter together. We're just at a completely different place in our lives than our other friends. So i am so greatful to have found you ladies on here!

I know there was a little talk of babies yesterday but is anybody planning to start trying right away after the wedding?

tris - i also consider myself to be a girlie tomboy .. growing up i'd always get along better with the boys (i think because i have 2 older brothers and always played with them) .. FI and I have a very small group of friends who we hang out with from time to time but the majority are guys.

speaking of birth certificates!!!! Im totally having any issue, just need to vent really.....

I was adopted when I was like 3 years old by my now father, whom I consider I father 100%

All of my documents like passport, license, have my new last name on them its the only name Ive ever known, I even have the card style birth certificate that says my new name on it.

Well for the marriage license in T&C I am not allowed to use the card style birth certificate I have to have the sheet of paper.  So I went to go get that today since I have to have it to the resort by the end of this month. And the lady calls me up there and says your name doesnt match what I have on file!!! Seriously!

My old last name is still in the computer system, but yet I have a birth certificate with my new name on it, how does that happen??!?!?!?

So now I have to somehow find my adoption papers I guess and either get this whole thing straight, but if I dont find them then Im screwed, bc I dont think there will be enough time to redo any kind of paperwork!! Ah Im just irritated I guess!!!BangHead.gif

Oooh baby talk, I was just reading back on this mass of posts we have here and came across them.

I'm torn. My mom had me young and we have such a great relationship with her I always wanted to have kids young too. Now, not as young as she did (she had me at 19), I always thought around 25 I'd want to have my first. I turn 25 a month and a half after we get married... but I also really want to go to Europe before we have babies and our good friend is planning a group trip for June 2012 when he finishes his med residency... oh choices :)

i'd say wait and go on the trip tris if you can! it's only another year right?

i always wanted to do a europe trip first but things just didn't pan out that way for me. like i was saying yesterday, my #1 thing has always been that i want to have my 1st before i'm 30.  i turn 28 this fall, so i'm just really wanting to get that ball rolling.

Lua, that's what I'm 99% sure I'm going to do. Just a little sucky, that's all. I wish I could do it all at once :). So many of my friends have traveled and I've been the responsible one getting 2 degrees, living on my own since I was 18, you know :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
