April 2011 Brides

Laura, I'm sorry to hear about the stuff your FIL pulled.  It's so terrible when people can't put their feelings aside when they don't match those that the party is actually for.  I'm glad your friends played your music through dinner at least...

Just think, it's over...and you have a weekend away to just relax AND you did make some good money out of it by the sounds of it!  I know that doesn't take away what the in-laws did, but...  it's over and now they are the ones who have to deal with whatever way you choose to move forward!  If you don't talk to them for a few months...  maybe that will get YOUR point across.

Mocha!! I just realized that I never replied to this!  I make them up to a day in advance.  They can be stored in the fridge.  The recipe is this:  For each large Hershey's chocoalt bar (the big ones in the candy sections), you will need one tablespoon of Crisco.  Break up the individual rectangles of chocolate and put them in the microwave with the Crisco.  Stir it every 30 seconds until fully melted.  So.  Good.  I also roll my strawberries after they're coated in the chocolate in coconut and/or crushed nuts for added fun.  These are a huge hit when I make them for showers and parties.  I hope you enjoysmile159.gif

Thanks for the suggestion. I would love the recipe. How far ahead can I make them?

Hey April Ladies!

Sorry I've been MIA for a while! Laura I'm sorry to hear about your FIL going behind your back like that. Not fair at all. I just hope that whatever you choose to do with that money brings you happiness that will out last the bitterness towards your inlaws!!

I need some advice from you girls. I just don't know what to do. My photog for the day of the wedding has been a complete dissapointment so far. It is now well over the two month limit outlined in our contract as the time in which we will get our photos. Originally I had asked him to have our photos ready for our AHR which obviously didn't happen. I just heard from a bride on another forum that he actually took 4 months to get her her photos, and she says he hardly edited any of them, just rushed through the whole thing!! So now I'm panicing. I am not willing to wait 4 months for our pics, but I'm afraid to rush him in case he just doesn't edit them!! This is such a nightmare.

I was thinking that maybe I would write a review of him on here as 3 stars and put in there that I can't finish the review unitl I get my photos and that hopefully when I recieve our beautiful, well edited photos I will upgrade the rating. I know he checks this forum so I can  keep it positive but let him know that I will be going public with my experience so he get me my pics fast and they better look good. Thoughts??? WHAT DO I DOOOOO???? BangHead.gif

I'm doing better than I was...  Last week was kind of rough, but I worked long hours every day.  I had gotten sick a few different times last week, but I figured out that my prenatal vitamins were causing it, so on Sunday I started taking them at night and that has made a HUGE difference!

We have told our closest friends and my parents...  Last I knew DH hadn't told his boys, but he may have by now...  DH is starting to get quotes from contractors because we need to do an addition on the house...  so that's exciting too!

I miss all you ladies too. I know some of us became facebook friends, but that's no excuse. If I haven't added you, send me your email in a PM. I would hate to lose complete contact with everyone.

I can't believe how quickly time flies. We had our AHR over the weekend and I am so sad that all the wedding stuff has to go away now. We got our pro album, but are waiting on the prints so we can send out our thank you cards.

Meggers, I hope you get your photos soon.

Teira, I'm already telling DH that we are having a vow renewal after 10 years so I can finally find my dream dress! And also trying to convince him that we should go on a honeymoon.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
