Thanks!!! It was simple and I had loads of paper left that I wanted to use up.

I had about 70 people. We didn't assign seating at all. there was no formal schedule - more like a garden/cocktail party. There were 2 speeches that lasted all of 5 min!

Thanks again

the more tulle the better - wish I had more. i was thinking even plain muslin along with tulle would work nicely as well!

Thank Lisa!!! As far as photo books go, I really like the 10 x 10 I think its the perfect size, the 8 x 8 is a bit small and the 12 x 12 is big so the 10 x 10 for me is the perfect size, thats what size our album is from our photographer and I think its perfect!

great deals!! although i think we're going to wait to do ours until after the AHR this weekend.

p.s. I think I may be crazy!!!!  I've been searching like MAD to try and find a last minute deal to go back to the Riu Negril for a week in July!!!!! LOL .. i'm so stressed over this AHR i just want to go back the two of us and relax on an actual honeymoon!!!!!  .... too bad the last minute deal would still cost us $2600!! yikes :S

Laura, that would be awesome if you got to go on an actual honeymoon. I think we are waiting until November to go on ours.

What do you ladies think of smores for our AHR favors? I was thinking of making strawberry and chocolate marshmallows and then packaging them with graham crackers, chocolate and directions. I want something affordable and cute, but also different.

hubby thinks i'm crazy for looking at going back so soon (we were thinking for a 1 yr anniversary) but i'm just dying to be back there with no family around!! LOL  it's an 'option', but as bad as it sounds, we're waiting to see how much we have $-wise after our AHR on saturday.  We really were thinking of re-doing our kitchen this summer if we had enough $, so i think that will be first on the list.  However, maybe.. just maybe we'll have enough for another trip too?? ;) a girl can dream right??

I love the idea of smores!!!!

is it bad that we're not doing favours at our AHR????  we're trying to keep is away from being an actual 'reception' but more of just a big meal.. we're not having a dj or anything.. hopefully people aren't peeved that we don't have favours for them. At least there will be a TON of food!

I think smore's are a fab idea. we gave away 2 flavours of gourmet marshmallows. but Lua,  i don't think it's bad that you're not giving anything away you are putting on the party after all.

our AHR was super relaxed....kind of like a garden cocktail party, lots of food, white wine sangria, beer, dessert, music a la ipod play list and 2 speeches (a roast to the groom which is a family tradition and us thanking everyone for coming) that lasted all of 5 min.

we definitely wanted to stay from a "reception" feel.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
