I really wish we could scrap the AHR ... but the inlaws have already invited all their friends an paid for the hall and such... it's like this AHR is for them really.. not us. Ah well.

Meggers, Those pics are hilarious. I LOVE it. I also kinda had my bachelorette at Cogo Bongo's but Dad and FI had to join all the ladies. It was fun though. The shows they put on there are amazing and we got some good pics and videos of them and the night. No sash for me though! Love the tutu!

Laura I am sure with all those videos you can put together a really great keepsake. I am going to try and also do a slideshow for my AHR if I don't get the professional one in time.

I would love it if we could all finally meet! Hopefully the dates, times and distance all work out and even if we don't join that get together, let's make one of our own!

Laura, you will still enjoy yourself, at least try to!!! Our night went by so fast!!! We didnt even get to talk to everyone, but everyone had a great time and we received a lot of compliments on everything so it was a good time, just went by way too fast for us!!!  I dont regret having it now thats its over, just glad it is over now though!

I'm down with making our own meet-up if the square one meet doesn't work (I'm on the complete opposite side of TO)

i'm sure our AHR will be worth it in the end and we'll enjoy ourselves... to be honest, we're in it for the $ that his parents say we'll get LMAO!!! hoping to maybe get enough to re-do our kitchen this summer!!! ;)

Wow! It's almost like we all help off on posting until most of us were back home.

Yes, if Square One doesn't work out we will have to plan something else.

Meggers - great pictures. I'm so glad all the bikinis turned out!

I'm hoping some people that have already given us generous gifts don't think our AHR is a money grab. I just really want to have a nice luncheon for the families to meet.

Laura - we're in it for the gifts/$$ as well - I'm not gonna lie. That's why we're doing it!! Our immediate families were our only guests at our DW and the husband has a gianormous family so I guess it works out plus all our friends are coming so it'll be fun!

meggers - Brilliant shot with the bikinis

Mocha - I'm sure people won't expect that. I've actually mentioned to the guests that have already given very generous gifts to not bring anything. We just would love them to be there.

Hey girls!  Need help...My fiance and I are staying in Dominican Republic for 9 nights with the wedding being somewhere in the mid point.  we are considering changing resorts (and can save just a little $ by doing so) to an equally nice resort after we are married since the trip is serving as our honeymoon as well.  I want to switch for a change of scenery to feel more like a honeymoon and to escape from some of our guest who will be staying the entire time.  My FI thinks it will be too much of a hassle.  Thoughts please!!!

Anyone else feel that it went by so quickly? Hands up....WHO WANTS TO GO BACK???? smile72.gif

Um, ME!!  We decided that we could move to Maui, but we'd be huge beach bums:)

Wow, yes this thread is getting busy again!  I love seeing everyone's pics!!  You all are some gorgeous women!

Teira-  Your flower looked amazing!  And I LOVE that pic of your little girl and you when you're looking at her in your room.  She'll love that pic forever.

Lisa-  Such a great video!!  Your extensions ROCKED!

Meggers-  2 AHR's?!?  Fun!  Your comment about getting depression cracked me up!  And your party pics looked like a lot of fun.  I nearly have a hangover from looking at them....ha!

Mocha-  That pic of you in the carriage is awesome!

Brandy-  Your TTD shots are so unique!  You look gorgeous.

On my end, we had our AHR last weekend and it was SO. MUCH. FUN.  We had about 130 close friends/family at this local wine bar that we closed for the night, and literally shut it down at 2:15am.  Our signature drink was the "Mint To Be Together Mojito".  Hubs did such a great job picking out the cake.  I can't remember if I'd told you girls yet or not but I had a wedding planning sob session one night to him about how I felt overwhelmed with plans, so he asked what he could do.  I told him that we needed a cake, and didn't care if he iced a log!!!  He picked the cake and flavors out all himself, even coordinated with our florist to have the orchids on it.  He's a good boy;)  We had a brunch the next morning for our guests, including some very hungover friends and family.  One thing our friends and family are not is boring.  HA!  Our photog has already blogged about our AHR.  Here you go!

Grey's you AHR looked absolutely amazing... so modern and colourful and the photos are gorg!!!

Kitty I think it comes down to how much you love your resort but FI and I were thinking about switching for a few days because we went for 14 nights and in the end didn't because in the end the wedding part flew so fast and was so busy that we needed the extra time! The resort was a completely different vibe for us once our party animal friends left and it was just the two of us.

I agree with FI on the hassle thing... we were offered nicer rooms at the same resort for free but still didn't take it because it would be such a PITA to move all of that wedding stuff!!! I can't imagine having to haul all that stuff to another resort and settle back in. Just my two cents!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
