I had time to go dress shopping and it didn't turn out so well for me but I think it is all about how you show off what you got and Brandy is right. everyone is going to be staring you and nobody else and THEY will make fun of your FMIL if you ended wearing the first dress. If it comes down to having to alter both, I would go for dress #2. It is almost perfect based on what you wanted. MAN I wish I could sew cause I feel your pain and would do it for you!!!!

Thanks Lisa. I'm sure it will be fine. I just know that my nitpicking mom and sister will be whispering about it. lalala.gif

Aside from the seam, I really do like this dress. So I will see what I can get fixed tomorrow, even though I will be at the hair salon for most of the day. Oh well, at least FI and I agreed to break open a bottle of champagne tonight so that will help me relax. Now if only he would get home from the gym! Or is it okay if I start without him?

Wish me luck. FI doesn't know I bought another dress, so he thinks I just want the first one taken in because I lost weight.

P.S. Now I can also add finish veil to my list. I had bought the tulle just in case and now I know for sure that I need to do that. hee hee. I may have no other choice than to call in sick for a day next week.

I can relate with the FMIL.

I defo like the dress that took forever to arrive better.

Mocha, I can only imagine how frustarted you are right now. I know how stressed I am right now and nothing major has even gone wrong... it's just every little thing... so with big things like your dress I totally understand. My two cents: You look beautiful in both dresses. No dress will ever be perfect enough to match the love you and your FI have for each other. That's what the day is about. I know the dress is important, but in the end it's worth pennies compared to the emotions on your wedding day. Which ever one you decide to go with it I'm sure you're going to love it looking back on the pictures (and I'm sure your fiance will love it too). We all know how much you've been looking forward to your custom dress. Don't let one stupid seam ruin it for you ;)! You're beautiful girl!! It's almost wedding time :)!!

Hey ladies, sorry for being so MIA lately. I've just been so busy with work and trying to get all the last minute things done before leaving.  I seem to only have time to read what everyone has written, but chiming in has proven slightly more difficult.

Brandy, WELCOME BACK! I read your review and it sounds like everything was AMAZING!

Tenny, WELCOME BACK TOO!

Mocha, so sorry about your dress issues, I can't even imagine,  but like everyone has already said, you're going to look beautiful and amazing and as soon as you put it on, all these stresses should just melt away and you will be able to enjoy your day.

I've been working out like crazy this last week.  I joined a gym on last Sunday and I've gone every day, mostly for bootcamp classes that have been kicking my a$$!  I figured it will be best to arrive in Punta Cana with no regrets.

As far as what we have left, still have to finish the ceremony script (for some reason, I keep having to make changes), finish my personal vows, put together our cake topper, create a CD for our ceremony music, make a list of all the other music for FI to put onto his iPod for our reception, buy a camcorder, some final shopping, and PACK! Our legal day is this Thursday and then it's crunch time before leaving the following Wednesday. Finally worked out the dog situation, although I'm not too happy about having to board her, at least she'll be with the in-law's dog and they get along. Had to get her up to date on her vaccinations this week too. I think all the stress leading up to a vacation makes the vacation so much more needed!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
