Lisa -- I don't remember shipping being that much for me.. maybe because I only ordered 18???  anyway, here's how we managed to do the iron on

step 1: print out your logo on iron on paper

step 2: lay the bag on your surface (i did it on my mom's kitchen table on top of a stack of placemats so i wouldn't ruin her table)

step 3: place a tea towel flat INSIDE the bag so that there is protection between the two layers

step 4: put your iron-on in place and then cover with another tea towel that's folded in half

step 5: start your ironing. just be careful at first until you can figure out how long you can hold it on for.  I pressed down for probably 20-30 seconds in different spots

step 6: carefully remove the towel from the top and use a rolling pin or something hard to reinforce the seal to make sure your iron-on has stuck

step 7: VERY carefully peel off the iron-on paper.

dorky pictures here: http://startingoutfit.wordpress.com/2011/02/22/

do you need any iron-on paper??? i had to buy a pack of 10 sheet and think i only used like 2 or 3!

Lisa, although the process for the koozies sounded terrible, I'm glad things worked out for you!

I have to rant about my WC....  So, she emails me last week and says that she wants to make our appointment when we arrive for the morning of 4/27, since we were arrive 4/26.  I emailed her back and told her we were not arriving on 4/26, I had changed that with our previous WC (who has left).  I told her that we arrive about mid-day on the 27th.  I told her that I needed to know when she wanted to meet with us because we had a spa appointment set up for 4/28 in the morning.

Well, she emailed me back yesterday and was not happy because us arriving on the 27th "changes all kinds of things."  She said that we needed to change our spa appointment because she thinks that it might be more important to us that we finalize things for the wedding than relaxing.  Now, had she worded things a little differently (and no, it was not the language barrier), I would not have gotten a little ticked with her with that comment.  I mean, of course the details of the wedding are more important than the spa appointment, but I have spent over $300 on our spa appointments (FI and I both are have 80 minute massages and something else), so I want to make sure I know when I can change my appointment FOR!  Anyway, I told her I would change the appointment.  So, she then emails me and says that we must meet on the 27th first thing because she needs everything finalized by noon on the 27th.  Well, I'm very frustrated at this point because we arrive in Cancun at 1:05 PM on 4/27, there is no possible way that we can meeting before noon, we'll be in the air!  So, I told her that we were originally informed by the other WC that it was okay for us to come on the 27th because we are not doing a legal ceremony, we are doing a renewal of the vows.  I told her that this should have been addressed with us prior to a month before the wedding if there were certain things necessary.

Anyway, I have emailed the Spa and emailed the WC, and I'm just waiting to hear back from them.  I'm absolutely frustrated at this point with the WC....

Okay, thanks for the vent!

mocha --- it's because of the bags that i had to do the steps with the towels in between.  they aren't made of natural fibers and actually melt when touched with the iron directly.  i learned that the hard way when i ruined my first one ;)

Laura- thank you soooo much. It doesn't seem that difficult so I might just try it. I would need to do 30 logos. How many pages would I need and what do they costs?

Sherri-I was never completely blocked from the site just got an error message everytime I changed pages which took forever and started to worry that they were monitoring. I just called UPS and told them my situation and that I was going to refuse the delivery and the seller wasn't going to pay so it would have just ended up in their freight unclaimed area and thrown in the garbage and said that I was willing to pay for the taxes only and not the brokerage fee and they said no problem that can be done and they are supposed to ship to my work today (the first order).

For some reason I can't post the koozies but will post pics when I get them.

Lisa - I find that this site takes a lot longer to load now. I don't know if it's because of all the ads or what.

Laura - I peeled the backing paper off and put the image face down and then ironed. There was nothing to peel off afterwards. This way you don't flip anything. You just print like a regular piece of paper. I bought mine from Michaels. It was on clearance for around $10 and has 10 full size sheets. Even after doing all the OOT bags, bridal party bags, a t shirt for my nephew and a few mistakes, I still have half a package. I made our logos about 4cm x 4 cm and put 7 on each sheet.

Wow that's a reasonable price Sherri so I guess I would need about 5sheets or so for 30 iron on logos. If anyone wants to sell their remaining sheets let me know. Pm me and I will give you my address to send them. So down to the wire on these things. I think I may have to enlist the help of my cousin to get them done. i was just going to use tags but I like the logo idea and I will just remove our names so it is not too personalized and maybe they will use them again.

Rats, just found out the first koozies won't arrive till tomorrow but I got my starfish plates for my centerpieces today and my dress so today is looking up!

Hi ladies! I'm an April 2012 bride but I have a quick question. Are you doing long or short bm dresses? I went on site visit in February and it was pretty windy. I had liked the idea of short dresses but don't want the bm to be holding their dresses down all nite. I guess it goes on what material you are going to have. I was looking into a chiffon so it would definitely blow in the wind. Going this weekend to look at bm dresses. Thanks for your help! Maritza

Lisa, When I bought them I didn't even know what I would use them for. I just wanted to have them on hand in case I wanted to make bridal party wear.

Maritza, We chose short BM dresses because I didn't want them to be too formal. If you have a chiffon dress there will be layers underneath anyways.

short dresses for me, for the same reason that mocha gave, they're not as formal. Plus my girls both like short dresses and I wanted them to wear what made them comfortable.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
