Wow, you girls have been busy on here!  Best of luck to all the early April brides leaving soon.  You all had a fabulous support group here with these girls and I have no doubt that each and every wedding is going to be absolutely gorgeous, and I can not wait to see the pics!!  :o)

Had too many pages to read, so I don't recall whose comments were whose, but I'm gonna comment anyhow.  :o

Purple shoes are gorgeous so they are my vote.

Lisa, your programs are too cute.  Love them!

Vegas, how freaking awesome?!!  I bartend every Saturday night and it's essentially paid for our wedding so I can't take a night off.  So, my bachelorette will be at a bar in DC on a Friday night.  Not too exciting :(

Have a great day girls!!

YAY TENNY! Have such an amazing time!! Thanks for starting this thread, I don't know what I would have done without it! Can't wait for your pics!

I say pack both pairs of shoes, if you have an outfit that the white ones will go with (if not my solution is to buy an outfit to go with the shoes, but that may be the shopping addict in me talking).

Had my dress fitting last night and I was THRILLED! (sorry to the ladies having problems don't mean to rub it in) but the lady is a genious and cheap!! I had an absolute ton of alterations done and also brought my party reception dress in to get taken in and shortened all together is was only $180! I had been worried that I wouldn't fit in the dress since I had her take it way in, but it turned out we could take it in even further (I just told her breathing is optional, a small waist is not!) I have pics I can upload when I get home.

Holy hell....WE LEAVE TWO WEEKS TODAY!!! eek.gif

Okay, so first of all, I know everyone else seems to be counting by days.... but I'm still counting by month.  HOWEVER, that ends today!!!!!  We are exactly one month away from the wedding!!  I'm so excited!  I love that we are getting so close so when my boss is talking about training I need to provide to other employees, she keeps saying, it's going to be right before your trip, are you sure you really want to do it before?  It's a great sound!

Anyway...

Tenny, I know you probably won't see this until you get back now, but CONGRATS!!! I hope you have a fantastic time and everything works out just perfectly!!  Megan is right, thank you for starting the thread because so many of us would be lost without it!

Char, I too really like the purple shoes!

Lisa, I LOVE your programs!!  Very nice job!

Tisha, I'm sure even if it's just a bar in DC on a Friday night, that it will be a lot of fun!!

Last night I was able to get half of the bags tagged...  FI said he'd do the rest, but we'll see!  I was also able to narrow down the song list, I just need to take a few more off.  Oh, and get FI to stop adding songs!!

Erin, at least your FI is contributing songs. I gave the task of playlist to mine, figuring with 8 months apart he would find the time to do it. No such luck. I asked him yesterday and his response was "don't you want to do something wedding related together."  Good thing I've already downloaded a bunch of songs!

Mocha, you have no idea how good it feels to hear you say that! My FI is frustrating me so much right now...I really thought that coming up to the wedding I would feel more in love than ever, but I just want to scream right now. He hasn't helped with the wedding AT ALL, and to top it off, he has been off work and at home for 2 MONTHS! I have been working full time, away for 2 conferences, plus organizing all the wedding stuff in the evenings, plus trying to get a workout in when I can. And he either complains that he doesn't like what I'm doing, so I go back and change it or he doesn't offer to help, and the ONE THING I asked him to do - make a music playlist - he can't even do that on his own! I had to sit with him for an entire night picking out music (which granted, was fun), but I paid for all the music to download onto iTunes, all he had to do was burn the CD and instead he started downloading all these other programs and farting around on the computer for like 4 hours, and he hasn't even made the CD! His best man arrives today and they're going to be doing "guy" stuff until we leave now, so I can pretty much count on getting ZERO help from him now.

I am soooo tired. I feel like I'm getting sick, and I still have a huge list of things to do and we leave in 4 days. Crappy day. Sorry for the vent ladies!!

Nice!!  I changed my first and middle names a few years ago because no one ever called me my legal first name, not even my parents.  My banking was all done in my nickname, I signed legal documents in my nickname, and after Sept 11th it became an issue to fly since my signature did not match my legal name on my passport or drivers license.  I'm REALLY not looking forward to all of the hassle to change my name, but am excited to have a new last name:)  Great find TL!

Char, cheer up! I have done 95% of the wedding stuff. I have asked to have this stuff done before I get home because it will be one of the few times that we will be together since we got engaged. I really don't want to be rushing to finish stuff during our last two weeks. I have been working at least 70 hours a week and FI has been working 40. But he always has time to go to the gym or spend time with friends. I don't even know if he has booked our limos to/from the airport! I realize that they aren't as interested in the details, but it would be nice if they could take care of the simple tasks.

The last time I was home, I asked him to listen to the songs I had picked for our ceremony. His response "I don't want to be tired of hearing them before we get married."

And now he is working a lot more, so he has limited time as well.

Good luck!

Hey Ladies,

I got some sad and scary news, my step dad was rushed to emergency last night with heart problems. The bizzare thing is that he is only 55, and is the most active person I know!He is now on all sorts of medication and is needing to go into the hospital in 2-3 weeks to get his heart shocked. My mom is here visiting with me while he goes through tthis alone on the other side of the country and she is in complete denial. She just called me at work to tell me that she's going to pack some of the wedding stuff to take back to Vancouver with her so that her and my step dad can bring it to Mexico! I really don't think he'll be able to come, especially since if anything happens while he's there the travel insurance will consider it a pre existing condition and not cover him. This is just so horrible because we are all very close and not only is this a huge concern for his health, but he'll likely have to miss the wedding which he is a big part of.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
