The Story:

 

All week, we had been planning on going out for supper with FI's parents Saturday night.  His dad had called at the start of the week and said he wanted to take us out for FI's bday (which is wed) and his mom's bday (which is tomorrow). So yeah.. we were expecting a harmless quiet dinner just the 4 of us.  Our day was kind of all over the place with doing some shopping for the trip and our workouts.  By the time we had gotten to FI's parents place, we were starving and ready to eat!!! His dad was offering us a snack, but we passed thinking we were going right to supper... we should have eaten those snacks!!!

 

Anyway, he gets' on the highway saying it's a secret where he's taking us, but he heard from a friend that it was really good.  All along FI's mom is acting like it's a secret to her too BTW....  We start getting further and further away from home... like we're in Toronto and then we start going north!!  STILL, FI and I suspected nothing.  We end up in Vaughan and FIL is acting like he's lost and not sure what's going on.  We end up at this place called Dave & Busters or something and FI's pissed LOL like "why are we going here?" ... FIL is still acting like he's not sure what happened with his directions and we go inside thinking it's just to warm up.  Next thing we know our best friends are running out at us!! and then pops out FI's aunts and uncles and cousins.... 15 min later, our pops my parents!!! LMAO ... we're given "bride" and "groom" shirts to wear and yeah... we had a great meal and then played games the rest of the night. We're not exactly party people so it was pretty much right up our ally.

 

Apparantly plans for this had been in place for a month!!!! WE HAD NO CLUE!!!!

My mom & grandma threw me my wedding shower this weekend :)!! It was actually a lot of fun and I got to see people I haven't seen in years. It was mostly their friends and some old friends of mine (as we were back in my home town), but it was awesome. I got spoiled rotten too. Not to mention my flaky friend who was supposed to be my BM (you all know the story) - well, her mom sent a HUGE basket of presents, including a $75 home depot gift card, a bunch of serving dishes, baskets, an electronic pepper grinder and a bunch of other stuff... along with a card saying how "Tiffany really wishes she was here with you right now, we both love you!" Almost started crying. Wow.

 

Drama with my sister has escaladed though. Wow. Every time I try to give her advice I get the "you've never been through a break up before! You don't know!" Okay, great, I haven't, but I'm getting insanely frustrated how I'm getting married in less than a month and still everything is about you. UGGHH!!!!

Laura and Tris that is great about your events, sounds like you are both loved and lucky ladies!

 

Tris I feel you with the sister drama. My sister is so desperate for the spotlight at this point that she went and got a ridiculous tattoo!! She had "Pirate" tattooed on the inside of her lip. WTF??? Do you seriously need attention that badly that you would get the stupidest thing you can think of tattooed on yourself?? My friends had to totally take over the bachelorette party planning because she was too busy planning her own birthday party (which isn't until May) to give a crapp about the biggest night out of my life... pfffft... whatever!!!! (Sorry, touchy subject)

Laura your planning thread looks great!!!

 

Thank goodness for me my mom flew in this weekend and we burned through almost all of my crafting projects, and I'm in love with how they've been turning out!!

 

I go for my second dress fitting tonight. I'll bring my camera to take pics and post them later!

Kiwi, I'm sorry to hear about the flower girl...  That's terrible that she's been sick for so long, I hope she'll be okay.  I know it stinks that they are just telling you about it now, but I'm sure they didn't expect her to be sick for so long.... 

 

Laura, that's absolutely a great story for your get together over the weekend!  I always love surprises like that!!!  I'm sure it was an absolute blast!!!

 

Brandy, I can't believe you leave so soon!!!  I hope you have a fantastic time, and I can't wait to hear about it/see pictures!  Be safe and have fun!!!

 

Tris, I'm sorry to hear about the situation with your sister.  I hate dealing with people when they are acting like that...  They think the world has never experienced anything when they are going through it.  Even if you haven't, that doesn't mean she has to treat you bad.  I'm sure being her sister that you'd be there to help or just listen if she didn't act so dramatic.

 

Meggers, good luck with your 2nd fitting tonight!

I feel your pain. It's so frustrating because I'm powerless. If I say anything I'M the selfish one because I'm not there for her when she needs me. So I just have to take a deep breath and let her eat up all my Mom's & families attention. I'm so glad that I'm marrying the most amazing guy in the world... thank God I have him there for me now.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
