Thanks ladies...it went by sooo fast we went first to get mani/pedi's and the we all (9 girls) went to this place called 'blo'.  They only do hairstyles, they don't cut or dye hair so we were all glammed up.  Then hit the liquor store (a must) and the grocery store (snacks) then back to the hotel to get ready.  Then for supper we went to a great place called 'sip' where everything they make is made with alcohol. lol.  And then off to an improv/comedy club....so up my alley!!  And then we hit the bar.  It was sooooo much fun, we drank 4 bottles of champagne throughout the first part of the day...everywhere we went, inc the salons, let us drink champagne so by the end of the night I was pretty tipsy.  But we got a hotel downtown (this was all in Vancouver) so noone had to worry about driving or getting a ride.  The hotel was close to the bar too so it was in stumbling distance, so no cabs were required for later. We were all at the hotel and in bed giggling and wathcing TV by 2:00am.  I couldn't have planned it better myself.  My sister actually planned it and I had no idea what was happening until we got to each place.  GREAT NIGHT!!!

Mocha took the words right out of my mouth!!!

As for her comments, I will agree to adding Saturday (just because people are sometimes silly/stupid) and the Lower Level (same reason) and the phone number for her reasons. I don't think it's necessary to tell them about the video/photo collage because it is a nice surprise and shouldn't be a reason to attend/not attend. I don't think the time is being distasteful, it is a guideline. She is funny though, talking about a traditional reception even though you two have clearly expressed that is not your intention. You can tell her it is extremely distasteful to mention gift intentions. It is an invite to attend a celebration, not a direction for a gift.

Laura you have no idea how stupid some people can be. for my DW invites which were also my AHR invites I numbered the back of them and kept a corresponding list in excel because I knew some people wouldn't put their names down and just how many they were bringing and of course I was right!!!! i got back at least 3 with no names, NOTHING but yes!

Also you mentioned invites are for singles or couples, does that mean that no kids or dates are allowed? If so then I wouldn't put a number down as that leaves it open for them to put whatever they want and you probably dont want that since you didn't want this in the first place.

If I was inviting someone I knew wasn't married then I put their name plus guest, if i was inviting a married couple I put their first names and last name, if it was a family i put the mans name and family just in case you wanted an idea of how to do it if you were ok with having children and guests for singles.

I do feel your pain for sure and I would sit down with FI and go over it all and see what he thinks about the whole thing and the two of you decide what changes you will accept and which ones are deal breakers so to speak and just tell FMIL this is the way it is, take it or leave it!!!!!

aside from adding 'saturday' and phone number i don't want to make any other changes either. hopefully FI sticks up for me and agrees. as for putting something asking people to tell us how many are coming??? i'm pretty sure people would do that anyway. the invites aren't going to a group regardless... they'll be to singles or couples.

Mocha-You idea rocks!!! Honestly I think the wording is so funny and creative. I would love to do something like that. Such a cute and affordable idea! i am having a welcome/easter dinner for all my guests two days before the wedding and would love to come up with something for that! How did you make that label????

Sounds amazing Bailey and you look so freaking adorable, like a little barbie!!! I am happy to hear it went well and you were suprised, that is the best way!

On a sad note I know I won't be getting a bridal shower or a bachelorette party (as you all know my sisters are usuless tits!) and well I fired one lol

Meggers, Wow that sounds shitty all around, well except for the hair extensions YAY! I think you need a drink. I know I do! so If ever you want to get together for one, let me know, I am game and always willing to hit Dirty Martini lol (haven't been there in ages geezz)

When is your AHR Sherri?

OK so things have been pretty quiet on my end except for me in a panic about getting the last things checked off my list. The problem is when I say list I mean, DW, Honeymoon and AHR because they are all within weeks of each other. The funny thing is I had way more drama in my life the first 8months of planning and now it seems to have calmed down. I better knock on wood!!! But I still have people on FI's side who haven't responded to the AHR but keep telling his parents they are probably coming which is irritating because it is on a long weekend and they need to book hotels and i need numbers!!!!!

it is so true that we talk to each other more than our own friends and family, well I know I do lol Thanks again girls for being there!!!! xo

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
