ok ladies, i've found a pretty great deal on vista print for invitations --- $65 for 100 - custom design - free envelopes - free shipping.  I'm thinking i should take advantage of it!!  i'm going to work on designing them tonight when i have the Mac and Illustrator to work with, but i've been working on fixing up the wording.

 

So... how does this sound????

I know! It's so exciting to look at the calendar and realize that it is the last full month before our weddings! One of my friends planned her wedding while she was off work on stress leave, I am so jealous. I could totally use this whole month off to get organized!

Laura, that sounds like the perfect wording. And a great price for the invites with envelopes. Just one comment because it is something I know I would run into, maybe have a phone number for RSVP as well.

good tip Mocha. i'll include that too.  we chose to forego  (sp?) paper rsvp to save paper but also $  on stamps lol ..

oh i know - another question --- how should we include our little tidbit about not being registered, but would prefer $ as gifts?? is it tacky if i had that info printed on the back of the invites?

As far as etiquette goes, you are never supposed to put any registry info on the invites, except for the shower. So I advise against it, another one of those things that as people contact you or your family to RSVP or ask registry info you can just mention that you haven't registered because you really have most everything but are saving for a home? But can I also suggest creating a small registry? I know I hate giving just a cheque and like to include a gift.

i've owned our home for 4 years now and we really don't need anything that we would register for.  what we really need is $ so we can do things like fix up our house.. so we'd rather not go and register for stuff that we'll never use, you know?

Laura, I love it all!  I agree with mocha on the etiquette for gifts.  I really like the poem you found, and I think that would be nice to put on your website, but I also agree that you should create a small registry if nothing else.  There has to be some "older" things you have that you might want to upgrade??

the only things i want and would register for is a kitchen aid mix master and a food processor!! LOL and they're not cheap!  i'm telling you, if Ikea did registries, I'd be all over it!! sadly, they don't...
