warning vent (not wedding related, but i just really need to get it off my chest) -- aside from the notarizing stuff, this week was bonus week at work.  my dad, who is very high up in the company tells me on the weekend that the group he runs is expected to get a bonus around $3-4K and that I should expect the same thing.  Imagine my excitement!  Debt would be paid off leaving us even more extra $... I felt so good! .. until my boss sends me an email wednesday telling me that my bonuse is going to be $698...... when it's all said and done (got the pay stub) after taxes.. i get $520..... people who work in my building, who work for the same company as me have been flapping their mouths (well the one gossip queen that is)  - they got over $3k!!! ... so not fair. i feel defeated and wonder why i even work here!

Yuck!  I'm so sorry your bonus didn't turn out like you'd anticipated!  Keep your head up.

I did Mrs. my new last name!  I can't wait to get it!!  It's actually a lady from Canada that I ordered it from.  The one I was originally going to order it from has like an 8 week waiting period.  This other lady says it takes 1-2 weeks, which is doable!

Erin, LOVE those hangers!  And THANKS AGAIN for the packing list!

Lisa, the 407 and gas being paid is huge. When FI was working in T.O. his 407 bill was usually at least $500 a month. I just noticed a few minutes ago that gas here is $1.20 a litre, close to $5 a gallon for the U.S. ladies.

I've wondered what people do also (especially since the majority of our posts are during working hours...lol).  I'll go 1st.  I'm a nurse anesthetist, or CRNA as we're commonly known.  I do anesthesia at a hospital in a smaller town about an hour from where we live.  I put people to sleep (and wake them back up of course...ha!) and do labor epidurals.  Love my job most days:)

$5/gallon for gas!!!!!  It's about $3.15/gallon right now and people are wigging out.

I have been away all week... it has been crazy but I have been able to take care of a few things....I still have to catch up on this thread too (I will be doing that tonight)

What I have completed:

Got our airline tickets

got a reception dress

did my bd photos - see link   http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/69896/amazing-amazing-bd-photographer-in-nyc-with-link-to-see-pics

I still need a gift for my MOH - she is a bit picky and I don't want to go crazy with spending.  does anyone have any ideas???

ROOOOOWWWWWR.  Fantastic BD session!  I'm glad it was a good experience:)  He'll love it!

Is she a fashionista?  What about a knockout clutch?  If she's sporty, what about a great yoga outfit?  Does she like wine and have a cat or dog she loves?  They have this awesome site where you can get wine labels made and shipped w/ your choice of wine to your house.  My friend got me some a few years ago for Christmas with my spoiled dog on the label, and I loved it!  Here's a link:   http://www.adogslife.net/index.php?cPath=14

So I just posted this on the May thread but wanted to share with you girls as well because I was so excited, and my FI actually got excited when he saw everything and started coming up with new ideas...I was somewhat in shock LOL

........

Sooo obssessed with VistaPrint.  Everything for my first order turned out great.  I think I spent aroudn $36 and got freebies and free shipping.  They "said" 21 days but my order came in less than 2 weeks!  I LOVE it and can't wait to place another order!  I get free postcards next so suggestions on what to make with them since you get so many.  Not shown below, but I also ordered the free rubber self inking stamp with our names and our address on it.

Used the rack cards to make my door hangers.  So happy with how they turned out!

Oversized postcards which I used as for the Welcome letters.  Turned out awesome, look professional, and I LOVE them!

I got "save the date" cards with envelopes for free so I made stationary with my new name on them for some little thank you notes I can write.  I got the pen for free and a steal of a deal on the business cards which I am come to use as thank you tags on OOT bags, luggage tags, key/tip holder cards, and maybe some other things!

FREE Car Magnet (P.S. My FI's name is Winston, but I call him Winnie so we are "Winnie & Tiffy")

This stuff all turned out great!  Love the door hangers!

Guess who's etsy flip flops FINALLY came in?!?  Here they are.  They purple's a bit more grape-y than I wanted, but I still like them.  Please excuse my runner's feet....that 4th toenail on my right foot is actually painted on b/c it still hasn't grown back after my October marathon.  Someone's definitely getting a pedicure pre-Maui!IMG_7189.JPG

Kitty Great job on the vista print order. I love it when things look professionally done!

Tenny-How cute are those!!!! I love starfish!

Ok I will go second! My offical title is Risk Manager-Retail and Fleet Divisions for a car leasing company. What that means is I manage credit, collections, receivables, insurance, legal matters and well anything that has to do with Risk to the company.

Mocha-my 407 bill is about 4250 to $300 a month because I go from the 410 to Yonge everyday and back and I negotiated 200$ a month for gas when I started 4years ago(thank god!) The 407 (for you US ladies it is a toll highway) is beautiful, it saves me so much time in the car but there is no way in hell I would pay for that myself!

Greys - Thoses are adorable!  Very very cute!

If anyone wants the welcome letter in the picture above, I actually took the template from another thread.  I like writing, but all in all, the wording was good and it was one less thing for me to have to do.  If nothing else, it can start you off if you are having writer's block.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
