The game was so much fun!!! Montreal played the NY Rangers.  Both teams kind of sucked, but we won 2-0!  ya hoo!! :)  We managed to score our company's season tickets which was awesome! Made for a long day though! Left my house at 6:50am, got home 11pm!!

Meggers - Great color choices. I finally decided to pull the trigger on key holders last night so that's one thing for our OOT bags. We decided that aloe is a good option, so I need to source some small bottles. I am once again considering koozies since we decided that mugs are too big and heavy for our luggage.

Bryanandchar - I forgot to mention good luck with FI's new job. It's tough to be apart, but you certainly appreciate the time you have together. I totally understand what it's like because FI and I both have jobs that require long term travel. I've only been at home for 6 weeks since the beginning of September.

Haha, we thought about condoms, but really there are only two single guys on the trip who would use them, and I have no doubt they'll make sure they are well stocked!! At least the lube the couples can enjoy too (I don't know how many of my friends in committed relationships are still using condoms). I was also thinking it might be cute to throw in a pair of hand cuffs! My FI is a police officer so it could be a fun tribute to that!

I'm also seriously struggling with the OOT bags. I'm trying to find ones that aren't too plain so I don't need to put a transfer on them. I like the boat totes with  the contrasting handles but I'm finding it so hard to find them for a reasonable price in the colour I want... I think maybe I'm just too picky. If you get some pics of your bags maybe we could help with some suggestions?

I'm thinking I need to re-think my plan to do iron-on transfers for the OOT bags.  I was thinking that they only thing that would go on was the actual image...  I had never used them before.  When I tried it on the bag I got for myself, I didn't like it at all...

Laura - That is awesome on the game!!  I'm sure it was a very long day!  At least they won!  FI had told me Sunday that they had a huge win over the Rangers...to bad they lost yesterday to NJ.  Also, really exciting about the possible photographer going!  My fingers are crossed for you!  I know we talked about this before and you were bumming, so that would be awesome if the photographer was able to go!!

Meggers - I love the handcuff idea, especially with you FI being a police officer!  That would be really cute!  Also, on the OOT Bags.  I actually took the transfer off last night because I hadn't cut it very clean... so I need to work on that again.  Plus I'm going to see about doing a colored filled background on my picture.

Aloe is a great call. I looked for some at Target, but didn't see any. They did have the little travel bottles though, I think four in a pack for a buck. I've also seen them at Walmart and the dollar store. I'm anticipating that the mugs are going to be a total pain. I have no idea how we're going to get them down there. We upgraded our flight to first class to allow more luggage, but since we're going for two weeks I know it will be a struggle to bring my clothes alone, let alone the welcome bag stuff and wedding stuff!!

I've seen some really great koozies out there, and they will definately be much easier to pack! have you started sourcing them yet?

i'm so excited at her potentially coming now!!!! oh i hope it works out! because we're literally at the point where we're just going to ask my bro to take some pics.

oh and ps. i need to vent!

why do my FI's parents have to be so old school?!??!

we had dinner with them last night and let's just say, the talk about our AHR left me totally down and frustrated.

my parents has offered to host our AHR bbq at their place which would be great! although not big, they have a gorgeous back yard and their house has an open floor plan allowing for lots of space.  FI and I talked about it yesterday aft and by cutting our invite list a bit, he was totally on board.

so we mention it to FI's parents last night at dinner.... oh the look of dissapointment!  what really got to me was when his mom says "well what about all of our friends?!" being polish, i understand they're old school and such but it just bothers me so much how they aren't happy about what we (as in FI and I want).  we asked to do the AHR in their yard (which is much bigger) but they said no followed by "what are we supposed to do if it rains?" ... they want us to have it at the local polish hall, but i 100% don't want to do it at a hall. The whole reason we're going away is because we dont' want the traditional wedding with the dances and the speeches etc... if we have the AHR at a hall, guests will expect that.  all in all, the conversation got no where, and much like any time we try to talk wedding stuff with them, i go home feeling so down and defeated like i'm such a dissapointment..... in all honesty, i'd be perfectly happy just going to jamaica, getting married and that's it!  but no... FI's parents gave so and so's kids gifts and we deserve some too... they want all of these people coming to my reception and i've never even met them! grrrr.....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
