Brandy - is that dress from venus.com?  My friend ordered the same one in green last year when she was going down south, and it is really nice!  I don't think it's too casual - that's the beauty of a destination wedding

I wish I would've saved a pic of my moms dress! It's sooo sexy! My mom is really young and has a killer body so I wanted to dress her up nice ;)! My sister & I picked it out at Le Cheatau for her (for all you Canadian girlies).

We got it last year so they don't have it on the site anymore but it looks sort of like this dress, same colour and style but lower cut with a nice big slit up the side ;)

As the MOB I wanted her to be a little more dressed up than everyone else ;)

Very glad to find another Royal Bride as well. I got the Luxury Package and added Doremixx as DJ with lightup floor. I'm actually doing the ceremony at the Royal Gazebo, cocktail hour at the beach, but doing the dinner reception at the Villas Terrace at the Gran Caribe side. I decided to hold a little bit in the dress and focus in my wait and see if I still have hope. LOL.

I'm very nervous after reading the last 2 reviews at the Grand Caribe thread as 2 brides had a very bad experience. They also had a bad experience with the photographer that came in the package, so I'm nervous about that as well. What are your wedding details?

I know what you mean about being depressed and trying on dresses...I feel that way when I put on my dress right now! I keep finding other ones I like more and its making me sad that Im not super excited about wearing my dress now... I feel fat in it as well and havent been as motivated as I was hoping after the new yr to get my butt back to the gym..Im hoping that I will soon find the motivation!!! Ugh!!! My advice to you is dont settle just to have a dress... Try lots on and think about it..I wish I would have waited because I probably would have picked a different dress! lol

Have you decided on your photographer yet? What are your details? So excited to have another Royal bride on here :) Good luck with the planning, and being on this forum will be a life saver for ya! :)

I'm in a seach of my dress and went to 1 place already, but got so depressed with the way I look. I gained so much weight, tried 10 dresses and all looked horrible in my body. I need to start working on a diet plan for me this week because I don't want to cry anymore

 This weekend, my plans are:

joining the gym

work on welcome totes with first aid, t-shirts, koozies, etc

and see what other ideas you've shared so I have a better, stronger and more sucessful planning

I can't thank you all enough for all ideas and sharing your feelings. I feel the same way as you all. I will keep posting as soon as other things arrive

Laura & Brandy - Those dresses are all great. Even if they don't wear them at the wedding, I'm sure there will be dinners throughout that they could wear them to.

Tris - It's great to know you have good genetics. I also think it's important for MoB to look great. That dress is gorgeous and super sexy.

Tris, thats exactly how I feel, alot of times people think my mom is my sister, and I want her to look fabulous! But I cant seem to find anything great, and I came across this which is totally her style and all but I feel like its too casual or something when I want her to look hot!! I also picked out this really hot aqua sequined dress it looked like a mermaid almost lol and she was like omg I cant wear that to your wedding! And I said mom of course you can but she thinks her body isnt good enough for it, but she is hot and has a great body, but I just couldnt convince her to get it!

Thanks ladies!!  Once my mom became aware that he had lied to her... she came around!  Now it's a matter of presenting this information to my father...  That will be fun!

Lisa & Brandy -  I love the dresses!  I'm trying to figure out what to do with my mother.  She is so not a dress person and wants to wear something other than a dress...   She's also not comfortable with her body, she's a little bigger. She said the other day that she'd really like it if I just let her wear a tank top and shorts!  She laughed and said she knew she was not going to get that!  She's too funny!

Erin, I have the same dress issue with FMIL. FI has never seen her wear a dress, she had to go out and buy dress pants for my shower. She is overly selfconscious about her size. She doesn't want any "bumps and lumps" showing but doesn't understand that everyone has them, no matter what size. That's why they make slimming undergarments. So now we have to search for something. She also lives in a small town where the nice place to shop is Sears! Cross your fingers ladies, that I'm not running around the day before we leave trying to find her a dress. That's what we have to do for every other event!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
