Yaaay Lua!  I am a runner and love when people discover running and get excited.  I heard an Oprah quote once that said, "Running is a great metaphor for life, because you truly get out of it what only you put into it".  If you have a good base built, you'll be fine only running once while you're in Jamaica.  I'm running a 1/2 the weekend after my Vegas bachelorette party....I may still be legally drunk when I do it.  LOL!  What plan are you using to train with?  I met Hal Higdon this year at the Chicago Marathon expo and he has some great plans that I've used for other races.  Keep us posted!  You'll cross the finish line of that race and be hooked:)

Theresa you rocked out a long list of wedding to do's.  Way to go!!

For all of you ladies who are losing some serious pounds and toning up for your weddings, I'm super impressed!  Keep up the good work!

Does everyone have their FI's wedding day attire already?  We have looked a little bit but aren't sure what to get for him. I'd like him in a suit (since I already got the purple tie from Nordy's when I ordered my TTD) but he's worried he'll be hot.  My dress is a little too formal to have him in a short sleeved shirt I think.  Are any of your FIs wearing flip flops with their suits?

I also agree....having this forum, & this thread for that matter, is so nice to share in our excitement and planning!!

Great suggestions!  I was thinking I may do a pic wearing my purple wedding shoes and just his purple tie strategically placedembarrest.gif.  I'm going to have to drink some serious gin and tonics before I do my shoot so I don't look like a deer in the headlights!

we just decided today that FI is going to wear all black suit with a black shirt... he'll go barefoot for the ceremony since it'll be on the beach and i told him he can wear whatever shoes he wants for the reception. And i figure for the reception he'll most likely take his suit jacket off so that'll be a bit cooler for him and since its april the temperature is going to be around the mid 80s which isnt too bad.

greysgirl - We just found FI's suit last week. He wanted the full suit and jacket, but the GM will just be black pants, white shirt and tie. I hope they don't complain about being hot. And NO FLIP FLOPS! At least not during the ceremony.

The shoes and tie will look so hot. I was going to have a drink to relax, but didn't want sleepy eyes. My photographers helped me relax, and she even demonstrated poses first. Kind of strange having another woman lie seductively on our bed haha. We did a few shots in my veil with my bouquet, I joked that it was like a nightmare showing up for your wedding in underwear! It is so much fun once you put the trust in your photographer.

Thanks for the words of encouragement ladies! I my first trainer workout and it went well.

We are going to order a white linen suit for FI and try and find a blue shirt to go underneath. I think I will go with StudioSuits cause they are just so affordable just need to get his measurements taken since my seamstress appointment was cancelled. He is going to wear sandals with his suit, not flip flops but sandals not cover most of his feet because he hates his feet lol

Good luck with the BD shoot Teira, can't wait to see a teaser!

Apola that site is great, I love some of the poems.

So I have been engaged for 2 years...because when I first got engaged my mom was ill and passed away 6 months later. I have been mourning but my family has been helping me get through and when I say family I am including FI.  So now I'm working on this wedding and as you all know from prior post my MOH is not having a great pregnancy and she won't be able to attend the wedding. So I asked another friend to stand in....but she sent me a lovely letter (sarcasm) stating that our friendship is not the same because I have been mourning and didn't go to her BDAY party and she doubts that she will be able to come to the wedding, because she is trying to plan other vacations this year....WOW OK..... So I thought OK fine...we aren't friends anymore..I can deal.  So on Friday now she send me an email that she will be in Jamaica for someone elses birthday right at the time of my wedding and asks if its OK for her to bring 3 guest.  And she want in on the excursions and anything else that I'm planning for the wedding.....

What should I do?

Oh wow- are you serious?? Kick her to the curb & don't blink twice!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
