as for the bags

I've decided to do 1 bag per couple, but for the few singles that are coming (ie. grandma, great aunt, etc), they will get their own.  I'm not neccesarily filling them up due to $ and the fact that we dont' want to be lugging a lot down there. But on our pre-travel brochure, i made a note for guests not to worry about a beach bag with the idea being they use the bags we give them for the beach. :) Haven't ordered the bags yet (on the list for next week) but I'm just planning on getting the $.99 ones from cheaptotes (due to the qty i'm getting they said the shipping charge will stay at a minimum) and we're going to iron on some sort of logo. We'll probably make up some sort of welcome letter or tag that we'll attach to the bags when we give them to our guests the first night.

what i'm putting in them for sure:

- rainy-day game book

- pen

- book mark (for each guest)

- first-ait kit (from dollarama)

- phot-share card

- do not disturb door hangers

- koozie (for each guest)

- key card holders (providing i can find supplies at a decent price)

i'm thinking i'm going to also include pashminas for the mom's and my uncle's gf (who acted as our TA).  would love to do pashmina's for all the girls but that's way too much $$$.

there are many other things i'd love to add, but we just don't have the funds to do it. also with mostly paper items, we should be able to fit it all in our suitcases with no issues. my mom knows we're making bags but no one else, so i'm hoping it all fits in our stuff to keep it a surprise for everyone.

We decided not to do OOT bags - we're just doing travel mugs and fans for the ceremony....  We're probably going to have about 60 guests, so we just couldn't justify the costs, especially since the travel mugs were a pretty big expense....  And we figured most people would have most of the stuff anyway.  I'm going to take lots of advil, bendryl, aloe, bandaids, tums etc and just let people know I'm the person to see if they need anything.....

And, on an exciting note - My dress came in last night!!!  And it fits perfectly!!!  I ordered it slightly too small, so I was a little worried, but I managed to lose enough weight since I ordred it, and I don't have to alter it - except for adding a bustle and cups and I'm good to go!!!

hmm so now i'm wondering if we should even bother with koozies????? upon reading reviews and speakign to people who go to these resorts, they say the drinks come in smallish plastic cups. that woudl defeat the purpose of me giving people koozies would it not?? hmmmm.....

lsmith - i've toyed with the idea of bringing extra advil, tums, pepto, etc. and telling people to just come see me, but then FI and I realized we're still going to want to spend a chunk of time alone without having people bother us! hehe

exciting about your dress though!!!!!  Wish mine fit perfectly from the start but unfortunately i just couldn't justify wearing a dress with a 6ft+ train on a beach!! so it's getting cut off. (supposed to pick it up next weekend!)

Forgot to mention, I went to Michaels last night and they had small frames for $3.00. I'm going to check if they are cheaper in the U.S. and might use them as place card holders. They had lots of colors, but sadly no fuchsia. But they did have gold and turquoise.

Here's a picture:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
