We booked our honeymoon when we booked the wedding. We're staying at our wedding resort for 7 nights (required for our wedding package) then transferring to another resort on the same island for an additional 4 nights as our honeymoon. We figured it would be the most economical way since we would already be in a beautiful paradise. Teira, I'm more of a fan of the first dress, I think they're both beautiful, you've got great taste, but I think the first will look better in pictures. Lua, thanks for the customizable puzzle book site. I didn't even think about rainy day activities, I just figured everyone would head to a covered bar during rain. I'll defintely check that out. And as far as hair flowers go, I know it won't be as awesome as some of the others, but I got a beautiful one on eBay for only $10 shipped. There are a lot of options. We don't think we'll be getting any gifts, like everyone else we told our guests that their presence is the present we want or need. If we do, I guess we'll just have to trust the safe in the room and since we have some people heading back to the states before us, we could have them bring any gifts back. Still eagerly awaiting my large vistaprint order. I opted for the slowest shipping and now I wish I hadn't. :-(. Happy Thursday everyone!

I understand the now or never. My mom is originally from the Philippines and I have always promised my grandmother that I would visit. I really want to be able to go before babies, but based on my schedule it won't happen. So we'll plan our honeymoon to go there sometime next year maybe. My parents took my sister there when she was only three months old, so maybe we can manage the same?

I pretty much told FI that I wanted baby before 30 simply for personal/health reasons. I turn 28 this year so I think he's starting to understand my now or never itch ;)

I'm sure you'd be able to manage the trip w/ baby in tow.  A friend of mine took her 6 month old with her to I belive Cambodia for a month this past fall with no issues.

As for me wanting to go to Rome, my answer for that is - that's what grandparents are for lol I'm sure when we have the $ to go, if we do have a kid or two it would be no problem to find a sitter so we could still go on our own hehe

The age thing is the issue for me too... I'll be 33 this year! So we should really start trying ASAP for the best results. FI is a couple years younger so he keeps trying to convince me to at least wait a year.

I think I might like to do more of a rhinestone hair accessory.

I can't wait to get home and look at your puzzles, and then go create my own!  Thank you for that!!

We are staying at our resort for 7 nights.  We will be there one night just the two of us, and then some of our guests are staying 4 nights, others are staying 6 so we'll be spending our "honeymoon" with friends too, which I'm totally okay with!

I think you could do the trip to the Phillipines with a young child too.

Lua - You're funny!  I actually told FI that I was coming off my pill this month because I'm sick of it messing up my "fun time" each month!  I haven't done it yet...  We'll see.  We are basically going into baby making mode once we are married (or I am).  FI will be turning 44, tomorrow actually, and I'm going to be 28 later this year, so I'd like to get building the family soon!

(I walked away from my desk for about an hour, and that's when I came back to about 17 new messages.  Can you guys see me?  Do you know when I walk away?!)

No baby making for me just yet lol!  I really want to have kids by the time Im 27 so I have about 2 years of married life and then we will start, no rush for me, I love to travel and theres no saying we still cant once we have kids bc I know my parents would be happy to help but financially after a kid I dont think we will be able to afford to travel as much!

yeah i'm thinking the same thing re: hair band. i have a lot of natural flyaways so i'm thinking a hair band might work out better for me. also the corset top of my dress has a lot of embellishment - as in the entire thing is beaded so maybe a hair flower would take away from that detailing?

Ooh, the baby convo, we're totally in the same place.  I just turned 34 and even though he's 5 years younger than me, we both decided that we'll start trying pretty soon after we're married (as long as finances look like they'll be in order)

BTW, ignore my gripe about vistaprint.  After typing that I looked outside and sure enough, there was a box waiting for me! Normally the dog goes absolutely crazy when there is a delivery, so since she's been quiet all morning I assumed there wasn't anything but wanted to check...so glad I did!

We got our rack cards (still have to cut the holes of course-FREE), pre-travel brochures, just married hat for FI-FREE, Future Mrs. tote for me-FREE, Mother of the bride tote for mom-FREE, a couple pens-FREE, a couple post-its-FREE, returns address labels-FREE, notebook-FREE, and a mug-FREE. We only really paid for uploading picture fees for the brochure (wanted to include our pic and a map of the resort) and of course shipping. Notice my kitty up top keeping watch?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
