Lisa I'm so jealous of Greece! We are staying in Jamaica for a second week which was the most cost effective way for us to get a honeymoon, but we are planning a trip to Europe a year after the wedding as a good friend of ours will be finally finished his residency and be a full time doctor and we want a a bunch of us to go together. I'm so excited! FIs dad is from the Czech Republic so he has been a few times not to mention living out there for a year, so I'm glad I'll hopefully get to experience it with him before we start having babies, haha.

Hi ladies!  Wow this has been a busy thread and it sounds like you girls have been getting lots of stuff done.  I'm been super MIA.  Between my crazy work schedule, FI opening his practice, and this wedding planning, I've been in a haze.

On a fun note, after originally planning a Mexican DW, then deciding to elope to the Turks and Caicos but running into lots of photog drama, then considering the Caymans......we booked last night to go to MAUI!!!  We're so super excited.  We have an awesome travel agent we've used in the past for vacays who is coordinating the entire thing for us!  She rocks.  I'm so excited to just be told where to show up:)  She's even coordinated hair and make-up artists to come to me!  If you ever want a fun/stress free vacay planned, I'd love to pass on her name.

We sent out our STDs last night for our AHR that's two weeks after we return from Maui.  I'll post a pic later and I loved them.

Through some Maui BDW brides I found Joanna Tano's photography.  I emailed her and she promptly responded that she'll be on maternity leave during our wedding.  She was very sweet and quick to respond.  She recommended 2 other photogs with whom she's worked, I contacted both, and loved both of their work.  I ended up hiring Anna Kim and am SO EXCITED for her to work with us.  We've had several conversations on the phone and I really enjoy her.  Plus her work rocks!  Here's a link if you wanna take a peak:     http://www.annakimphotography.com/weddings.html

On another note, I completely agree, it's way too hard to be in the Christmas spirit when I have lots to do on our wedding list!  We didn't even put up our Christmas decor until last weekend.....and we probably wouldn't have if we weren't hosting my family's Christmas dinner!  Ha!

I've always wanted to go to Europe and last year was my first time! I went to Italy and loved it. Greece was somewhere i have always wanted to go to and i figured it's now or never cause just like you said we are going to start having babies right away so this would be the last chance for a long time! I have also never been to Jamaica so that might be my next all inclusive! Europe is beautiful and you will have a blast especially if you go as a group!  FI is portuguese and his parents have a condo over there so that might be a good family vacation in the future with a little sneak away from the in laws to spain!

Lisa, you're going to have an excellent time in Greece, and that's the perfect time of year to go, before it gets too hot for summer.  Two weeks is a good amount of time, but my suggestion would be to go to a fewer number of islands as the boat rides between them are rather long.  My post college backpacking trek only allowed me enough time for one island and I have been dying to go back and explore more.  I have heard great things about Santorini and Mykonos, both are extremely beautiful. You don't need too much time in Athens, mainly to hit the few basic sites and then get out to the islands. Just my two cents.  Congrats on picking such a wonderfully romantic and adventurous place, you're going to have a blast.  Like tris, my FI and I are staying on the DR for our honeymoon, just switching resorts for a change of scenery. We do hope to get to Europe sometime before the babies come!

I have to share this with you ladies...

Just last week I had gotten an email from our coordinator at the resort that she was leaving (I know I've shared this with you all, already) as of last Saturday.  Well, I've been in contact with the Wedding Manager at the resort because our new coordinator is still in training, so the manager has asked that I go through her at this point.

WELL - I got an email from the manager today saying that although they have our date and time confirmed, there are a few things that should have been confirmed, that hadn't been to date.  I'm a little nervous now with what the previous wedding coordinator did discuss with me and what my choices are...  I'm going to have to run through everything with the wedding manager and make sure things are still good.

I guess it's a good thing our old coordinator left!!  Now I get really good service with the manager stepping in!

Ella, I'm glad things are working out with your WC leaving. I'm going to try to have a wedding day to get away from Christmas shopping. I'm sewing fuchsia netting into my crinoline for extra color and then I will work on doing the iron ons for our OOT bags. Crazy stuff, yesterday I went to have my hair done and because she gets booked so far in advance, I scheduled my final pre-wedding cut and color! I can't believe it's that close.

Lisa - I am so jealous of your honeymoon, I have always wanted to go to Greece! you will definitely have to share pictures when you get back!

I just got my shoes in the mail from zappos and i LOVE them, they are fuschia glitter pumps but i have to get a bigger size, here they are

And another thing checked off my to do list - finally booked a DJ... we were originally going to the Ipod hookup but i decided i dont want to have to worry about music and the flow of the the entire wedding day so it'd be easier just to hire somebody to worry about it for me :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
