I have my dress and my bridesmaids dress, scheduled alterations, and I am desperately searching for a photographer.  It's been hard to find one thats open and doesn't cost a fortune.  I'm actually quite surprised at what photographers charge in Mexico.

Anyway....if anyone has any "watch outs" or "dont forgets" for me, I would greatly appreciate it.  I feel like I haven't done enough to wedding plan.....

Congrats and welcome! Sounds like you are doing well with planning and now that you've joined the forum you'll find out how much info the ladies here have to offer. What is your wedding date and which resort? There is always more things you can plan, but don't worry it will all fall into place and be wonderful no matter how much or little you plan.

Hey! Welcome! I know of a really great photographer couple that I was planning on booking, but then we decided on Jamaica. I'd already spoken to them a few times and they're awesome to talk to and their work speaks for itself:

Erin - snow tires are only law in Quebec for now, but some of the other provinces are considering them.

As for the cheating guys, it is so horrible. I know a guy that always had at least two girlfriends and was lying to both of them. He was living with one and even after she found out he had been doing that for years she still kept him around. I don't understand how you can say you care about someone when you can't even respect them enough to be truthful. It also sucks for the girls that have to get over it and have to learn to trust again.

It's makes me feel so happy that my FI and I have found each other.

I'm going to Riu Palace Mexico April 14.

I just see all of the posts on here about music and reception, etc and I haven't thought about ANY of that.  We weren't planning on doing a private reception, so I would think I really just need a couple of songs....walk down the isle and walk out, right?  Makes me wonder what else I'm forgetting....

Thanks for the photographer suggestions.  I LOVE Moments that Matter, but they are already booked for my day :(

I think it depends on the different packages that your resort offers. With 17 people you might be able to just have a private dinner in one of the restaurants.  I know at our resort, they suggest 4 songs for the ceremony, guest/bridal party procession, bride procession, signing of certificates and recession.

Our wedding is April 22 and our photographers are coming down around that time, too bad yours is the week before or we could have shared. They aren't charging us any extra for travelling down and they did an amazing job for our engagement shots.

don't even get me started on cheating guys... they're the scums of the earth in my mind.

i was actually engaged before (in 2006) ... we had been together almost 3 years, had just bought a house together and 2 months before the closing date on our house, i had found out that he had been cheating (because he got the girl pregant)... which then led me to find out he had been cheating basically our entire relationship! i was definitely beside myself when I found out about that.  i moved into the house alone and after about 10 months on my own getting my life back i ventured on to plenty of fish.com.... LOL and that is where I found my current FI!

... oddly enough, my FI was also cheated on in his past relationship.  we had to work through our trust issues together and I believe that is why we're as stron as we are as a couple now. :)

Laura - I am so glad that both you and your FI were able to find each other and learn to trust again. It's horrible to find out someone is deceiving you but it is amazing to move on and find true love. Years ago, I found out that the guy I had been with for over a year had another life and a house with another girl. I was glad to be rid of him after I found out, and was glad that I could walk away without losing anything. The other girl is still with him and I know he won't change his ways. I guess I was so wrapped up with my own life I didn't question his lies. Thankfully, I am now with a man that shares his whole life with me and no one else.  It's tough to go through, but it's the path that leads us to the "one."

It's funny how when it happened to me, I thought it was the end of the world!  I laugh at it now when i see where I am.  Desipte how painful it was at the time, it taught me a LOT about life and MYSELF and wouldn't change a thing. :)  It's nice being 100% myself with FI and having him love me exactly for that. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
